To be fair, the DA play US politics in African context, instead of African politics in African context. People knew that Zuma was corrupt as soon as Thabo Mbeki fired him, so you gain nothing by going on and on about Nkandla and how corrupt ANC is. These are not the issues. It's a pity that Cope died because they were really taking ANC on.

No, it doesn't mean that they support corruption, it means that SA politics is more complicated than we are making it out to be.
If they wanted to change the constitution, they could have done so many times by now.

They didn't have 2/3rds? And they didn't publicly state previously that they where going to like they have now.
They are the ones who wrote the Constitution to begin with, so the fear mongering logic doesn't follow. No wonder we have a weak opposition even though it has the biggest media resources.
Good on her. I still don't have respect or trust for her after the DA drama.

Say what you about them the one they will not do is change the constitution to make him president for life. What they might, which is a big might, is make changes that protect him from prosecution once he leaves office. Even that is not likely because he's stacked the deck with his own people including possibly making sure that the next president is Zweli Mkhize who is his loyalist.
If they tried to extend his terms then the ANC would split because there are other people in the party who want a turn at the presidency. He'll probably step down of his own volition in the safe knowledge than loyalist will continue in his stead. The only problem for me is that the fight against corruption will die off completely given that their voters see nothing wrong. As Zuma puts it, only "clever blacks" worry about Nkandla, ordinary party members don't care. A lot of people actually think he deserves a nice palace as president.
