Does downloading from sites like Rapidgator fall under P2P ? When downloading from Rapidgator I get max of 130KB/sec but all other downloads are about 450KB/sec. Have a 4MB/s line.

FNB site states : "Torrents and P2P downloads are restricted."

Dunno, but I've used torrents in the evenings before midnight and they were kind of ok.

I left my 1mb line downloading last night from about 11pm, this morning at 7am it had downloaded about 2.1GB of various torrents

During the day before then and at 7 when i checked i was getting 0-2kb though, but browsing was fine.

Anyone else finding things dog slow tonight? Gonna do a speedtest and try with another account to see what i get.

I'm on a 4mbps line and on the 4mbps FNB uncapped package.




edit: Looks like FNB Connect is the problem. Afrihost free 1gb capped account is fine:

has anyone tested whether using a free 4Mbps account has any benefit to using a free 2Mbps account on a 2Mbps line?

Shaping etc etc?
