Forum improvement suggestions

I like the new forum. The look is modern with the familiarity of old times past.

It took a day or two to get used to, but now that I am - it feels natural.

Some might complain about the white background being too white, but to me - it's perfect. Keeps things light and easy to see and read. Looks great on my screen!

I say well done chaps.
 
Forum Headings and Sub Forums at the top of the page could be more clearly defined with a brighter color

Yup... definitely the colour scheme needs to be addressed... cannot spend the 100s of valuable work hours on MyBB if it remains as white as it is now! :)

My biggest gripe and suggestion would be having it resemble the old style of thread and post notification / navigation.
The new style makes for very awkward navigation and a quick skim of old has been replaced by an excruciating search.... !!!

Other than that... not much to comment on yet, still new and browsing.

Oh yes, change the pics in the classifieds... any way to remove that skew polaroid overlay?

Too white
No clear seperation between posts and signatures...a thicker line or even a different background for signatures would be nice
Everything seem to get smaller...text,the online button.
Also the smileys are too small to be usefull
 
Just mentioning that there is still an issue saving preferences in the searches, including "Search by Type".

EDIT: thanks for the slightly darker background. Though mind you I didn't notice all the white until it was pointed out to me! This new format looks spectacular. Thanks to rpm and the crew for all the hard work to keep us up with the 10s!

I'm all for improvements for sure, but this place has been my home for almost five years, and now its been redecorated, and its difficult to get used to!

And we no longer go to raves and take e... life goes on? We're but 5 months a part (mind you my aliases date into the 2004s!) so I feel your pain. However, I am so excited (like a 5 year old on Christmas) about the new theme. I love change, and I think this one is a goodie!
 
Why not add a video and image upload section (MyBroadbandTube :) ).

I'm sure this will be very helpful in various descusions etc , without resorting to external international links.
 
I like the look of the new forums. Agree that the contrast could probably be a little better, but all in all, looks very sleak and professional.
 
First I preferred the old forum, but I guess that's just cause I don't like change.

Improvements you can look at:

1) Font in typing box should match the final size of the post.

2) On the old forum, when I received a notice of new post in a thread I'm subscribed to, clinking on the link provided took me directly to the new post, but now the link go to the top of the thread, this is annoying.

3) What I found very annoying on the old forum (I'm assuming this one will be the same) was when people post in threads that haven't been active for years. So my suggestion would be to automatically lock a thread if not active for say more that 6 months OR to include some sort of warning message on the board index when a thread is older that say one year.
 
I'm very happy with this new look of the Forum. I never actually used the Forum, but it now looks much easier to use, so I will now use it more often
 
I like the new look. Much more professional. I think if we go darker it must not be the standard theme as in a work enviroment we will be nailed if our boss sees us looking for solutions on a dark site.
