Hi Guys!

I established a FREE locally hosted proxy, so that one may use one's local bandwidth to still connect internationally. Currently it is in a testing phase, so I'm only allowing HTTP and HTTPS traffic and limiting the file sizes that can be downloaded. You can use it to access Facebook and MySpace. There is also no ads on the site, to improve the browsing experience.

You can access it via http://proxy.saleswarehouse.co.za or if you want to be more secure https://proxy.saleswarehouse.co.za. I don't have a SSL certificate installed on the secure side, so you should just add an exception for the site.

Please give it a go, after all, it is completely free.

Cheers! ;)

Anybody going to try it?

If I can do this I would be happy don't want to download anything just the browsing :D

I just did, it opened a site, just not sure if id enter any usernames or passwords while using sites through the proxy.

Works but quite slow compare to my openbrowse (Also a little slow compare to normal).

Can it be capturing your password by any chance?

No passwords or usernames are stored. I only store the most visited sites, so that I can evolve it into a cache server for faster local access. If that is what people would want?

What inspired you to make a service like this, surely it is costing you a lot of money?

You wouldn't believe it, but at the corporate company I work they are very restrictive to which sites you browse. So, I said the hell with this crap and started the SSL proxy side of it first, because as we all know they cannot block SSL connections.

Oh yeah, if you work at a company that blocks sites, you can access the SSL proxy to bypass it ;).

Well I'm going to write the costs of as advertisement against my e-commerce company.

My work's firewall blocks gmail and facebook, youtube.etc but also all the proxy websites.

Are you allowing downloads with the proxy?

Ja, you won't believe the amount of hits the server is getting... My e-mail isn't even working :(... Will see how it goes... It is in a testing phase anyway... Seems that the 2Mbps dedicated line I have isn't enough... Didn't think it will be hit this hard so quick :D
