Frequent disconnects and time-outs - mweb uncapped 384

I don't know a lot about how to troubleshoot what's going on so hopefully some one can help me.

I've had ADSL for over a week now but I'm experiencing frequent disconnects and loading time-outs. It's not slow as such, just seemingly unreliable. I have to download drivers or things like Open Office three times before it downloads properly.

Ideas?

Hmmm not that I can really help you but my ADSL with mweb(4meg) has also been acting up over the past week... Random disconnects etc... Don't know if it's related but I doubt it! I'm sure a mweb rep will have a look for you!

My linksnappy account also no longer works for some strange reason... Hopefully everything fixes itself soon otherwise I'll be be creating a similar thread sooner or later!

To me it sounds like there might be noise on your line. Could you login to your router and confirm the SNR/Line attenuation?

Might be. Mweb guy says all looks good on their side so I'm thinking it's either this or it's the router dropping Wifi connections.

SNR D=43 U=12
Lin att D=51 U=31.5
Rate D=384 U=128
Is that good or bad? I guess I'll have to study op on how ADSL works a bit.
