Frogfoot Port Elizabeth

I noticed that Sherwood seems live on the FF map, although some areas are still yellow/showing as in progress, mine included.

That doesn't seem to stop all the ISP's from spamming me, telling me my complex is live though :p

AH Fibre Ops are apparently getting back to me on Monday regarding whether we can be routed via Cape Town again, seems Afrihost is the only ISP to reroute PE Frogfoot clients through JHB...
So it is now Friday a week after last phoned and still not a word from Afrihost...

Routing through Cape Town still been giving anyone issues the past few days?

Start sending daily emails asking for a update.

Terrible packet loss for about a week now, mainly being routed via CT

the packet loss could be localised to our congested summerstrand node though

I am starting a new job next month (remote work) and probably looking to move to a new place which falls under a different FNO as FrogFoot is just not good enough here (When load shedding comes back ill be screwed also)

My internet is also acting up recently, getting intermittent packet loss. Sometimes feel like hard packet drops for a few seconds (watching twitch and it just stops playing until I refresh a few times. Opening a new website at this time just loads.) Will restart the equipment a bit later and see if is still there. I'm not measuring packetloss at this time, just latency, but with the Cloudflare Cape Town issues recently its not really reliable since it defaults to JHB and messes up my data.. Not sure if its the node or the backhaul to Cape Town.

Not a word from @Frogfoot Fibre for months on PE, just there to take the money it seems..

What are you using to setup those graphs @Leno ? I'm want to log more data Unifi is great for latency and usage data but falls short on packet loss it seems.

Using smokeping on docker, the image I am using has the smokeping speedtest-cli plugin installed also

https://github.com/magicdude4eva/docker-smokeping

I agree its hard to check what to monitor, google is always in jhb for me, Opendns is currently routing international, and cloudflare routing to jhb

Cant even use one of the isp routers/hops as a target as those drop ICMP when the load is high

Packet loss in game up to 92% at times

Almost normal except for a little packet loss that is not normally there at this time of the morning.

Loss still there, unfortunately my ISP @RocketNet-Rep does not understand smokeping graphs and wants command line results (for an intermittent problem) and their mobile app (wifi) which says the problem is my network (because im running IOS, and have 14 devices!)

So they have not reported it to FF

"Hey Russell, Frogfoot will be attending to the issue on Thursday. Her is the notice below; Kindly take note of planned maintenance that will be taking place from 2020-05-21 at 11:00:00.0 to 2020-05-21 at 18:30:00.0. Clients will have no connectivity during this time. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. I believe that your connection will improve after that."

So it's not just 2 hours.

Good evening all. We have noted all messages and have gathered a sample of FRGs to investigate possible issues in PE. This has been brought to the attention of our technical teams who are investigating. Updates to follow by COB tomorrow.
