Frogfoot Port Elizabeth

What happened the last time, was it an issue with the substation?
Someone fried the main cable while trying to steal another one (the backup cable)
Cable was so old they had to fly in specialists to do the custom repair

We back on again, was Summerstrand & Walmer

Loving the old, antiquated FrogFoot infrastructure in PE. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

With Christmas just around the corner - maybe this is a gift ? "High latency and packet loss - a game the whole family can play..."

And here we go again.

The textbook example of an oversubscribed and under-provisioned network:

Oversubscribed by the thousands! They were signing up people left, right and centre since forever in my suburb (Sherwood) for about 18 months before the first cable was laid!

Saw this coming - and told them to GTFO until they can guarantee a stable service in Nov 2020 (monitoring my Boet's connection, albeit in Lorraine)

*Laughs again in PureADSL*

How is this remotely acceptable after their last “advertorial” pleading for understanding on myBB ?

@Frogfoot Fibre what's going on? Seeing major latency during evening hours every day.
Good day PhireSide. Thank you for your message. Please note that we are not aware of any issues in your area. Please log a ticket with your ISP in order for us to investigate your issue. Thank you.

Why not ask your staff to check the status of their network in the evenings, its clear you have a problem. I will be leaving as soon as Openserve goes live and I'm telling everyone I know in PE to avoid Frogfail like the plague. Great job
