Frogfoot Port Elizabeth

Since the FF rep said they cant investigate without tickets from ISP's they clearly dont have their own monitoring systems etc so we have to play their game

I just noticed MTN now has 5g coverage here, eyeing out the uncapped deals, but CGNAT etc makes me *sigh*
Would the latency be any different than 4g ?
cause i have currently switched to Mtn mobile and the latency is just as bad.

So @RocketNet-Rep support saying I must check my router CPU useage when this happens

Clearly all you other people experiencing this at the same time are dreaming it, sorry folks its my router

Just noticed @AfriNatic posted an update above, can we please look at transfering my line to you

This is the finger pointing that FrogFoot would like to hide behind to obfuscate their incompetence and dare I say - negligence.

It’s time myBB exposed this once and for all - without a sanitised “advert” style response.

Hi,

Just a follow up. There is currently a notice for Degraded performance in PE.
Thanks for the response @AfriNatic but this degraded service had been happening everyday this week. Are Isps able to put any pressure on Frogfoot to sort this out? . Its just getting worse and worse from them.

Apologies for the issues faced. Frogfoot has actually made public to Mybroadband issues they face with NLD failures from the Eastern Cape coast line affecting clients. Limited NLD routes available and constant vandalism is causing issues for clients in these areas.

East London is also affected... latency really bad.

At least Eskom gives you a heads up & admits shortcomings.
Frogfoot passes the blame to the ISP's, before they get caught in their own lies.

I think everyones issue here is that @Frogfoot Fibre deny there is anything wrong, then post a big media release after how sorry they are etc

If they were proactive they would investigate reports from here, and not just tell us to contact ISP (see below)

When we open tickets with ISP's (other then you @AfriNatic) you spend 1-2 days being told to plug in your pc directly to the modem, check your routers CPU , replace network cables etc etc and Frogfoot never end up hearing about it

We were burned with the previous George and PE congestion a few years back, where they took forever to acknowledge the problem etc

So ISP’s will be passing on a discount to their customers for the underlying and acknowledged sub standard network performance ?

With all due respect - FrogFoot made public their negligence and incompetence as an FNO.

Non of their competition is this bad - so why should they get a free pass ?

That it has been allowed to get this bad without ISPs, as a whole, advocating for speedier resolution on behalf of their customer base is beyond me.

I wonder how Metrofibre and Vuma are performing in PE, are there just less MyBB peeps on those networks so we never hear about the problems?

Dude, they have constant patching on their network. That's in no way normal at all. You shouldn't have to patch networking kit at the rate they do.
Not sure if other FNOs do the same or not.

I'll find out with Openserve and AN Other ISP when Openserve is ready for use in my suburb. Tired of almost daily notices about degraded performance, and then almost weekly Change Controls for patching of hardware.

So my daughter is writing end of the year online exams today and this morning and to be another dismal fibre day so bought additional data.

@AfriNatic , @Frogfoot Fibre , there are undeniable reliability issues, when do we pay accordingly while you fix your issues?

Latency to CT currently around 40ms, usually 11ms.

Another rollercoaster ahead today on FrogFoot - brace yourselves fellow PE citizens.

I reckon ISP`s should implement a "Gardenroute" SLA for Frogfoot. Get a baseline of network stats from all the actual working FNO`s in the area and where Frogfoot deviates from those stats apply a % penalty or client discount. I dont think its fair we pay the same price as other people in the country but get this lucky packet service from FF and then be insulted by their bot.

Insulted by their bot and first level ISP support asking for your router to be rebooted.

50/5Mbps fibre line provided by Vox using Frogfoot:

40ms ping to a Vox server in CPT
44.68Mbps download (started off at 20Mbps and had to crank its way up there)
5.16Mbps upload

So far it hasn't impacted us, and hopefully it stays that way.
