Frogfoot Port Elizabeth

Tried watching Elf last night as a family Christmas movie, and for the first time I saw Netflix buffer multiple times (I've seen it happen once or twice at a push). Stopped at about 8x. Annoying.
 
Same here, fell asleep while streams buffered.
Woke up this morning to finish watching.
At least I got to sleep earlier than usual, thanks Frogfoot

Local latency seems better than days past though.

Could they be throttling users (which would explain the buffering) to ensure the network remains stable? Perhaps it won't show on a speed test as those could be 'unrestricted'.

Not sure why I would be throttled. I've installed the games I want to play (Unravel/Unravel 2 of Origin; Starcraft I/II off Battlenet) so not like I am downloading tons of games. Or downloading much of anything except streaming.
I've noticed Netflix also takes a while to get going which never used to be the case.
I've had to refresh the browser on a number of occasions now over the past 9 days or so, and this is after 8PM.

Devils Advocate here :)

FF operate on layer 2 , throttling certain services would require insight and engineering into layer 3 and even layer 7 to identify the traffic

Highly unlikely , the biggest reason would be to do this at scale requires extremely expensive equipment for packet inspection etc

If they were throttling it would be setting the sync speed on the ONT which the ISP would quickly pick up and you would see it quite clearly on speed test etc

I just found it odd that I too had the buffering that others have spoke about (even on low-bandwidth services like YT Music), yet speed tests would show that nothing was wrong. Browsing seemed fine as well, and I couldn't pick up any irregularities on Smokeping either.

Bizarre.

Browsing is quick, some downloads might hit near the download speed I can get (and that's literally 3 episodes a week), my games are all offline (StarCraft I/II & Unravel I/II), but streaming buffers at times. And now all times during the day.
But online meetings are fine through Teams. It's bizarre.

Could be ISP shaping
 
This is the fourth night 6pm - 11pm .
Speeds are 100%
Browsing , watching YouTube , streaming, series, whatsapp call, is impossible . Constant buffering the entire time .
I wish Frogfoot and Afrihost would sort this issue out now
 
Speeds are 100% for me as well and getting 13ms locally. But once i log into my server to play in Eu i get 240ms instead of the normal 170.
 
Hi,

We are aware of degraded performance to international traffic via London. We are working with our network partners on resolving the issue asap.

This will affect international traffic via London only and we have direct routes to Amsterdam that seems to be working as expected.

All local traffic is not affected.

Apologies for the issues experienced.

Thanks , however when will this be resolved?
Saturday I was off from 09:05am until 9:30pm.
Frogfoot only reported the issue @ 8pm .
Now every night everything is so slow .
This is becoming monotonous now .
Always endless issues .
Right now , I’m using data as Fibre browsing is beyond slow .
Will there ever be a new provider in my area (Kamma Heights) ?, so I can cancel and never look back as I’m stuck with these fools.
