Frogfoot Port Elizabeth

Thanks , however when will this be resolved?
Saturday I was off from 09:05am until 9:30pm.
Frogfoot only reported the issue @ 8pm .
Now every night everything is so slow .
This is becoming monotonous now .
Always endless issues .
Right now , I’m using data as Fibre browsing is beyond slow .
Will there ever be a new provider in my area (Kamma Heights) ?, so I can cancel and never look back as I’m stuck with these fools.

Thanks

Morning,

If you are still experiencing slow speeds in general please do a few speedtests using the speedtest app and a trace route to 1.1.1.1 and send me a pm with the results for me to log a fault for you.

Lol.
This was the reason for this morning
Hi, you may experience service interruption between 05:00 and 07:30 on 15/12/2021. Frogfoot is conducting maintenance in your area. Afrihost

However when will this issue between 6pm -11pm be rectified?

How long is this going to take ?

Our vendor requires hardware changes to increase capacity at our London peering points.

We have rerouted as much traffic as we can via Amsterdam to assist with the traffic levels.

There is no ETA on a fix currently.

Are you even surprised? Hahaha.
If it’s not Frogfoot it’s Afrihost
Quite possibly is Frogfoot though, and not Afrihost. I don't use Afrihost as my ISP so I don't have a dog in that fight.

I am with Vox, and this morning our line dropped so I had to restart the WiFi router at home. I saw PLZ was added to an affected area last night through a Vox notification instead of just CPT. I am turfing BOTH Vox (which owns FF and I don't want any further association with either) and Frogfoot when Openserve finish trenching in my suburb.
Will do it with great happiness. They can fetch their hardware outside my house...that's how disenchanted I am with both.

Streaming at night on Netflix never had to buffer, and when it did, 3 seconds was cause for complaints. Now it buffers, and we have to refresh the browser to get it going again. Ridiculous. This is after 8PM when the kids are asleep and we watch TV so it falls into the same sort of hours as you.

I just found it odd that I too had the buffering that others have spoke about (even on low-bandwidth services like YT Music), yet speed tests would show that nothing was wrong. Browsing seemed fine as well, and I couldn't pick up any irregularities on Smokeping either.

Bizarre.
Perhaps try this link that I read about in another thread as most ISPs I assume prioritise Speedtest traffic and the latency and bandwidth tests aren't don't concurrently.

Bufferbloat test isnt really relevant to FF or your ISP, it more tests the traffic management capability of your router

How do I get rid of bufferbloat?

The easiest and quickest way for most people to fix bufferbloat is to upgrade their WiFi router. A small number of modern, high-end routers come with a feature called "Smart Queue Management" – also known as SQM. We've collected a short list of routers with good SQM here. Once enabled and configured correctly, a router with SQM can get rid of most bufferbloat.

An interesting article that I came across regarding those of us with Calix ONT devices:

Something weird happened at around 20h00 - 22h00 tonight, as well:

Interesting

I wonder if ISP's who use DHCP connections are affected more?

A PPPOE session should surely only present itself to the ONT as one session

Edit/Addition:

Reminds me on Rain Fixed 4g - they used to limit the number of tcp connections,
we tried to use it in a school with lots of devices opening persistent push connections etc.
Worked fine when tunneled via vpn etc.
Not sure on their consumer 4g etc we never tested.

...*sigh*...anyone else notice their wonderful Frogfoot line has died in terms of speed? On a 50/5 line through Vox, and I have the following off a Speedtest:

Ping = 12ms
DL = 13.79Mbps
Upload = 4.36Mbps

I can browse this site adequately and struggle with other sites. My final day of work and I've got this...FFS!

...and then it dropped! Restart the WiFi router which seems to lose sync when the line gives grief and all's well again.

Speeds appear to be fine here today, but we did have an intermittent dip for about 10 minutes yesterday morning at around 11h00

Still not quite at 50Mbps (around 42Mbps) but faster than it was earlier when it went down to 6Mbps!

Line dropped around 20 min ago for 5 minutes, came back on, however everything is so slow, browsing , streaming .
Constant buffering . Kamma Heights .
Anyone else experiencing this ?
