Frogfoot Port Elizabeth

Man I am so glad I never cancelled my Openserve fibre for Frogfoot. Frogfoot looks incredibly flaky going by this thread. Openserve may top out at 200Mbps down and 100Mbps up, but at least it's rock solid. Never goes down, it's unaffected by load shedding and it never fluctuates.

Looks like the UPS Summerstrand maintenance entry disappeared from FF website

We didnt go down yesterday

My latency increased once again to 59ms to Jhb, from the normal 26ms

Slow download speeds & packet loss tonight - anyone also experiencing issues? I'm on a 100/100 line (still routed via Joburg ENNI...)

I'm experiencing really slow speeds but my latency is fine though.

There seemed to have been issues last night but I didn't really notice. (I didn't really do anything mission critical. Was in discord watching a friend stream).

Well this is bleak. I'm on the verge of cancelling my Telkom ADSL in order to move over to fibre and I stumbled upon this thread while trying to decide on a service provider.

So do I understand correctly that Frogfoot has the monopoly in Lorraine, and if I change over to fibre I have to use them?

I would avoid signing up with Vox.

I wouldn't call it a monopoly, I think Vumatel (through SADV) will be starting work in Lorraine soon, they already finished work in my area and set to go live at the end of this month.

I'm looking to switch now, and right now it seems as if it's only Frogfoot that is available.
