Frogfoot Port Elizabeth

Looks like Walmer node just went dead a few minutes ago, anyone else having the same issue?

Edit: just called support and they said the whole of Walmer is down... must mean vandals broke the main link and the new redundant link...

Mine also went down, in Broadwood.

My connection just went dead in Walmer, anyone else offline too?

Edit: I see they are attending to a UPS fault on the Walmer node and we will be off 15-30 minutes

Congestion must be back again. < 9mbps on 100meg line this evening everything is crawling.

Come on FrogFoot sort this **** out.

IPTV a no go. Other streaming all but dead. FFS.

Nice one chaps.

Edit: I have a hunch this has something to do with Monday's city wide power outage.

Latency spikes and download speeds slowly starting to deteriorate now after 7pm as all the new holiday fibre packages FF signed up come online for netflix and chill.

@Frogfoot Fibre when can we expect feedback and timeline for solving this disgrace ?

How on gods green earth can you exceed peak capacity without ensuring accurate forecasting of your backhaul needs to CT ? Does the left hand not talk to the right hand ? Guys this is worse than Telkom. Come on.

Frogfoot getting a bad rep in George and PE

Our node has no backup power, after Blitz (who they bought) promised there will be when our building selected a provider. Fraud if you ask me...

Have told multiple clients and friends to avoid them if they have a choice

100mbps down to under 10 again like clockwork. Shame on you Frogfoot.

So quiet and slow to respond it's deafening.

Revenue at all costs, basically it is fraud. Unethical business practice at the very least.

We are currently investigating, please inbox your name and contact details with connectivity issues. Will be updating as soon as information is available.

I am so tempted to sign up with FF once our area goes live next month but reading the threads on MyBB about all the issues experienced down the Garden Route and PE side makes me really nervous.

I have no issues with the Telkom LTE we are currently using, but the 300GB soft cap is not enough anymore since we stream more from Netflix lately and usually hit that by the middle of the month.

Dear Valued customers

With regards to complaints about degraded services in the Port Elizabeth region.

Frogfoot identified a fault on a link that was recently commissioned to provide sufficient capacity for this region. The fault is in the process of being resolved with urgency.

The root cause of the problem is that Frogfoot did not pro-actively detect the fault because monitoring had not been provisioned for this recently deployed link as per our standard procedure. Frogfoot acknowledges this mistake and apologises for the inconvenience. This monitoring has subsequently been rectified.

Any issues lately with Frogfoot FTTH lately? I need to give some friends in a complex covered by Frogfoot/Blitz what their options are.

Running good here in Beverley Grove. Frogfoot does have a post on their status page :

"In Progress - Port Elizabeth Peak time Capacity Issues - Kabega, Linton Grange, Westbrook - The Ridge"

Just make sure there is backup on their node for load shedding, Blitz (now frogfoot) lied to us / body corporate when we specifically asked if it will stay up, and now we stuck with them and they refuse to remedy.

Can you please send me details about this? I'd like to forward them on to my friend, who is part of the body corp.
