Frogfoot Port Elizabeth

I am becoming highly frustrated with this internet story. I can say I've had problems lately but wow it's freaking awful at the moment. Look at this rubbish!

Last 2 weeks have been bad, but tonight is the worst so far....
@Afrigirl @AfriNatic @Frogfoot Fibre

Hi

Yes it's been quite unstable recently and we did receive a general mailer from Frogfoot acknowledging the issues then a bit later things started degrading again and an outage was logged which is still ongoing.

Morning Afrinatic

Many thanks for the above. Seems as if there’s quite a bit of trouble with the FF lines in PE at the moment. What a mess.

Afrigirl has really been trying to help me big time in fixing the problems I’m experiencing at home. Really appreciate her efforts !

Let’s hope they can get this resolved soon

Best thing we can do is campaign for another FNO to come into the region - at present, Frogfoot have a monopoly on fibre in many areas so there's probably not much incentive for them to fix stuff in a hurry.

Do like @Conack suggested and show interest, if we can get another FNO in then we can vote with our wallets:

If the main issue is NLD's/Core and the actual last-mile is fine perhaps a local PE ISP should breakout in PE and organize their own backhaul out.

Ah well I've woken up this morning will absolutely no internet at all. Newton Park.

It was perfect when I went to bed but now there's absolutely nothing. I don't understand

Morning

We are in a troubleshooting session with Frogfoot tier engineers actively troubleshooting the issue.

Why do all lights, including "internet" remain green on ONT, when a failure like this?

It led me to believe the red light on the Deco must mean the Deco was playing up.

Was only when I connected laptop directly to ONT and it still couldn't connect, there's more to all this - but again, why is everything still green on ONT if a fault at the FNO ?

Can we please get a proper technical explanation for why the last month all Eastern Cape and Garden Route Frogfoot services have been pathetically unstable.

Unless their network is in a seriously bad state, these cannot be isolated incidents!

Connection back up, but traffic going to or via JHB it seems.
