Waiting for another MyBB article soon, with @Frogfoot Fibre saying "Only 1% of network affected" and "nothing out of the ordinary". How can 1% downtime be ok (they boast a 99% uptime in last article). That's about 15min out of everyday. So a 30 second disconnect 30 times a day is acceptable to these people...

Looks like it's down again.

I've placed an order to get DSL installed again, as a backup. I am curious to see if DSL will be more stable or not, will setup smokeping graphs and compare it with FF.

DSL is working perfectly, as usual. Downloaded 10+ movie torrents last night alone.

10Mbps PureDSL.

I'm currently replaying the OG Age of Empires - Rise of Rome and Tiberian Sun

They are a blast, even after all these years.

I got my DSL line installed, openserve came the day after I placed the order, and @Afrigirl activated it on their side, so all up and running.

This should be a decent backup hopefully.

I was thinking of getting the same and then mikrotik to do failover etc. Even if its just 5Mbps. I have copper already in the house and the exchange is just outside the complex boundary wall. Cant believe we have to go back to dsl just to get a stable connection in 2024...

That is basically what I have done, I went with 10mbps, its not much, but its good enough to keep me going with teams meetings, github, etc, when there are problems.
