Frogfoot Port Elizabeth

Wait until you guys hear about February's FrogFoot price increase......

Bad loss at the moment in the Gardenroute area.

-Edit: Looks like it's been resolved.

Also dropping here again.

One week of stability, is that too much to ask?

Just got my email saying that there will be a price increase on my fibre line. FF are taking the piss. Such a slap in the face after a terrible year of disconnects and poor communication. **** you FrogFoot.

I've not had many probs., but what I fail to understand is that last year (on the package I'm on), the price went up less than it's going to in February 2025 - R10 last year, R40 this coming year.

Yet last year, download speed doubled and upload increased by 3x on that very same package.

This coming Feb., though the price increase is greater, there's no increase in speeds.

Things are "deurmekaar" in SA, or at least with Frogfoot - how I perceive them to be, at least.

As if they want existing clients to pay a "frailty" surcharge for maintaining the network, without any added benefit - much like Eskom's proposals to hit low to medium electricity users with high rates, after their previous brainstorm to charge people off-grid with high rates for non-usage.

LTE remains artificially high, to me it seems because those with the option of fibre & LTE (not even taking into account 5G) will stay on fibre for the true unlimited / uncapped appeal of it.

And I didn't know pricing is decided on by the FNO, as I also saw from the wording in my e-mail received a few weeks ago ....... because ISPs all charge different amounts for the same speed type - eg. 60 / 30, while some like Cool Ideas (I think) don't offer asymmetrical, so are ISPs hiding behind FF ( in this case) wrt the pricing 🤐 :giggle:

..... or just Axxess, as the wording is from their e-mail (I received).
