Ah, misunderstood. Yeah, Openserve prices aren't good. I'm contemplating spending R500pm more and going with 100Mbps Cool Ideas uncapped. They seem to be the golden ISP at the moment.

I wish I knew what happened to Crystal Web. They were superstars until quite recently.

What don't you like about your connection? What do you use it for? I think I would take a 50 Mb/s package if I had coverage -- I can't justify the cost of the extra 50 Mb/s. But that's heavily influenced by your income.

I have a big family, so 100Mbps is very much appreciated so everyone and the dogs can stream without affecting anyone else. Gaming and downloading also prevalent.

Total cost atm is R1.5k pm. Changing to Cool Ideas would add R500pm, which I'm not keen to do.

My only real issue with CW is the poor international performance. It's also a downer that they've basically abandoned the forum and don't attempt to explain to their (more affected) customers what is going on with the network.

I do see Telkom digging up another massive hole in front of the IMAX(not sure what you call it) on Mowbray Street Newton Park between 2nd and 3rd ave.

Really hoping that is some sort of movement into the area :erm:

Is that not for the tower there?
 
Wow I see the tower. They can just pop it right there in a residential area without informing all the houses nearby like that?

So still no fibre. Too busy putting up towers now.

Poor demand forecasting by the network operators?

Relevantly low DSL uptake as many residents are using wireless technologies (due to poor cable infrastructure!)?

No residents have connections or relatives working in the network operators' planning divisions?

Saw some trenching on Cape Road in Newton Park/Greenacres

Could not slow down enough to rubber neck and see a logo :)

Saw Blue & Red trunking next to the trenches
Do the companies still stick to their colours? A few of them have changed their brand colour scheme a few times :)
 
Still no luck in Circular drive area.. No Fibre and waiting more than a month already for LTE-A...not good
