Do you guys experience higher fuel consumption in winter? Not sure if I imagine it, but I seem to. When winter strikes my car seems to get less km out of a tank.

Yeah it quite common on petrol cars, was mentioned earlier in threadDo you guys experience higher fuel consumption in winter? Not sure if I imagine it, but I seem to. When winter strikes my car seems to get less km out of a tank.
Ah ok. So not just me imagining thins then. Sorry...have not read through the thread.Yeah it quite common on petrol cars, was mentioned earlier in thread
Treating yourself to some 95 I see!
On Figo, use to get 100kms for R100 now its like 79kms for R150.Rarely ever fill the tank full, at the previous fuel price a 100km of commute will cost more or less R100 maybe R120 of fuel. Filling R150 will leave me a little extra in the tank after my journey than I started with.
Make: Toyota Corolla (2009)
Tank: 50l
The newer C300 is a 2.0l 4cylMerc C300 at 140km/h on N3 8.1l/100km not bad for 3 litre, but I will admit it needs a bit of speed to be economical.
Not bad over that distance, I think.
Second pic is since last fill up, note the fuel gauge![]()

Yes, all mnfrs use confusing numbers / nomenclature now to confuse users into thinking they're getting a bigger engine while gently screwing them over.. Anyway the 2009—2014 W204 model had a 3 litre v6 and later W205 onward they added 2 x turbos to the 3litre and called it a C43..The newer C300 is a 2.0l 4cyl
Is your temp gauge usually below ~90 or was this taken before the engine was completely warmed up?Not bad over that distance, I think.
