Fuel consumption

Currently we are on track for a small reduction in both petrol and diesel prices early next month even if the government removes the last 75c of the tax break

You using engen for the ebucks right? pity there diesel is most time overpriced. I do have cheaper diesel for sale near me in kraaifontein industrial, but yeah no ebucks then

Yeah, using engen for the points and the ebucks.

Drove it quite hard and returned 8.5. Not bad, lighter than the ranger as the ranger would've been close to 10 at those speeds, but lacks the overtaking power of the ranger. Ranger feels faster.

So I filled up again after just over 600km, trip computer shows 9.8l/100km. Which is what the pump shows as well more or less. This car is lighter on fuel than my 2.2 around town but uses more on the open road. Driving the ranger in the same manner returns just under 9 at the pumps.

Yirre, this thread is cringe for me.
You guys made good life choices buying some of these cars.

2003 Subaru WRX - 360km's off a 60l tank (call it 55 liters because I never let it run below 1/4)
2009 X5 35d - 650km's off an 80l tank (12,2l/100km's consistently)
All town Driving BTW.

The Subaru gives the same mileage on the long road.
The X5, drops to about 6,5l/100km's on the long road.

*Questions my life choices..

Lucky iam back to my 03 wrx , so should get around 320km for a full tank.

good news...at the coast 95ULP will decrease R1,32 and diesel will decrease R0,91 as of midnight Tuesday

The figures i quoted are after the reduction in tax break....exactly what the pocket will feel

Bloody hell, how can you people even live with that consumption. Even the work hilux, towing a full load at speed didn't get that. I did 400km on 60 litres between cape town and gp and that I considered really bad.

And you weren't even towing, that was day to day?

Yup.
To be fair, it made the MOST AMAZING noises so I was probably a lot more enthusiastic than I needed to be :D

430km with my previous tank after flooring it way too m

Golf GTI.

The 11.4 average was after my wife's commute in traffic yesterday.
She drives slow but trying to get her to drive more economically.
Too much accelerating, late braking, and failure to maintain speed are what I noticed affect consumption the most.
She gets 7.5 average with our Picanto and I get 6.5 with the same car even though I drive it much harder
430km from my previous tank after flooring it way too much

530 driven with the current tank with 120km left in range mostly due to a 260km trip I took from Blouberg to Hermanus and back.
7.1l\100km average for that trip

My Fiesta is sitting on 6.0L/100km. That is the global reading, not instant.

What car is this?
Looks like a new fiesta possibly.
2018 Fiesta 1.5 tdci but its the 2019 shape.
To add to that, I had a full load, boot and back seat was packed with luggage and shopping items we brought back from Durban.

I usually do 120 - 140 going between Durban and Richards Bay, my usual consumption is around 4.3 - 4.5/100km

Dont think I've ever seen mine go that high before lol
