What are ADSL Splitters used for and are they required? They are quite pricey, I thought that it cost like R30.![]()
Another tip: post your order/reference number on MyBB and some helpful telkom employees lurking here unofficially might assist you in speeding up the installation.
Also include that you can apply for (A)DSL online too. By filling the online form on the Telkom site.
Online--phh, we are not there yet. Vodacom is prime example. There is a "call me back" section on their website--no one has called me yet (sent 3 call me backs in the last 3 weeks). OTH, smaller companies like SAINET and Afrihost have responded on same day.
I have applied for a self-install ADSL: I plugged my router in last night and the DSL light turned green...but I haven't heard anything from Telkom yet. I wonder if I could go ahead and do the verification.
(Ref no is 522830-31 is someone is interested)
If the DSL light comes on you should be able to do the verification. But maybe it would be best to phone telkom on 10219 and double check if you can proceed.
Otherwise just add the telkom guest account details in your routers setup and see if you can access http://www.telkom.co.za/verifyadsl.
