MWEB Connect (Consumer product; month-to-month)

Uncapped ADSL 384kbps: R219
Uncapped ADSL 512kbps: R299
Uncapped ADSL 4096kbps: R539
All inclusive

Uncapped All-inclusive 384kbps: R349
Uncapped All-inclusive 512kbps: R599
Uncapped All-inclusive 4096kbps: R899

If MWEB can afford to give their customers uncapped for such low prices then surly Iburst can to.

The only difference in price would be that because we dont have 4096kbps con speeds we'd have to divide the price of the 4MB uncapped by 4 in order for iburst to compete.

So can we be expecting uncapped for R224 pm? Wait ok thats pushing it... How about 1mbps uncapped for R400pm?

Gogogo iburst you can do it! make your customers happy!

I hate to be the pessimist but iburst changing their pricing after they just iintroduced their "cheaper" pricing , i doubt this will happen ...atleast not for a while ;)
Justice will prevail !!
Iburst just died mwahahahahahaaaaaaaaa

You cant really compared the two. You need to understand the limitiations of wireless networks compared to ADSL ones, with regards to unlimited/uncapped packages.

There is no difference , Iburst is not a true wireless ISP and never has been. Its an ADSL replacement . It does not have the mobility of a true wireless ISP like vodacom or mweb or cellc. Their coverage is too small.
The day you can drive from pretoria to capetown all the way and have a internet connection all the way , thats the day they can claim to be wireless.
Most people cant even get signal in their homes and have to put up omni antennas to get signal so your arguement holds no water ...
Next try ?

Dusk... it IS wireless... just not mobile! Even cellular is linked by wires at some places!

;)

Your generalising.
No Im not... I used to be one of those people and trust me that signal was a big problem even though i was under their "good" coverage area.
I could never move my modem even out of the specific room without getting horrible loss .

My point is , and ive tested this on vodacom. I can drive from pta to cape town and ALL THE WAY would get internet connectivity.
With iburst you cant even drive out of cape town without total connectivity loss.

Okay its very very very very very bad wireless ...happy now ? ;)

LOL Dusk.

You could argue that the Ibust UTD desktop modems are not wireless because you need a LAN or USB cable to connect them to your computer / router...

:)

I am just celebrating the uncapped offers today. Cybersmart has just matched MWEB's offer for me! :) :) :)

I wasnt being serious.
You know that right ?
Hehehehe
Nah Im just saying that people definately dont get iburst for its mobility.
Most people get it (from previous feedback and posts) as a fixed solution when ADSL is not available.

I think in the past it was also used for mobility, I still use it for this purpose sometimes cause 3G is still expensive. But yeah most people use it cause of no Telkom fixed lines or no ADSL enabled Telkom exchanges in their area.

At the moment I am running Screamer Wimax and iBurst side by side at my townhouse :P
