How many of those fed would have instead gone and put money into the local bakery/fisherman if they hadn't got one for free? The logic of today defines any lost sale as "theft". Sadly for the locals, Jesus far more in the business of lost souls than lost sales.

I do think it's pretty obnoxious when people try and get their own selfish cause to be artificially pushed as a religious one. Struggling to persuade people rationally? Slip the local preacher a few thousand bucks and he'll condemn anything for you with the force of God.
