Which means his legal action is laughable because they can do with their licensed use as they please...incl NOT showing it. He was paid.

Steve Hofmeyr’s supporters are following his lead by cancelling their DStv accounts and destroying their DStv satellite dishes and decoders.

On Thursday, Hofmeyr posted a video on Facebook where he cancelled his DStv account, destroyed his DStv decoder by driving over it, and took his satellite dish off his roof.

He could have left the dish and bought an ovhd decoder..

Steve represents everything that was wrong for me with the past. I grew up under the old flag and my first vote cast was on the day our new flag came in, unlike many on this forum. I don't glorify the past or wish it back.

I'm looking at DSTVs decision based on the merits of his actions. We are addressing an individual issue here so lets focus on the root cause and not allow us to be distracted by the actions of others.

The time will come to handle the other racists out there and to hold DSTV accountable to be consistent.

Thing is it will NEVER go past whites. As we've seen countless times blacks will get a free pass simply because of their skin colour. It's no coincidence that firsts like 2 years prison is ALWAYS a white.

The old flag also represents much more than what was wrong with SA. Young people should learn real history and not the crap they teach in schools. I'm so glad my niece decided to watch a documentary on Mandela and the real things he has done. Let's just say he's no longer a hero to her.

Through this pathetic action of virtue signalling, DSTV are demonstrating that they are willing to turn their back on an entire segment of society in order to join like minded activist orginisations on their Social Justice Warrior ladder. My message to DSTV is that I am cancelling my DSTV account not because I am a fan of Hofmeyr's music, but because you DSTV have become far to big for your boots and through this pathetic but dangerous action , are raising the temperature in an already flammable public discourse. Lets all hope that in years to come when students of economics 101 look back at the reasons why DSTV failed, that textbooks will record how poor ideologically motivated decisions caused a global media orginisation to collapse.

The only thing holding Naspers up after print media went the way of the dodo is Tencent. They're getting rid of all the dead weight like MC.

What a complete and total doosh, but what about the Bill Cosby show (the white kid is consistently portrayed as stupid) and Eddie Murphy (who in his movies consistently portrays white people as stupid). There are many more racists who need sanctions, if that is the real reason for the MC ban. In the case of the crippled pace dstv decoder they are not far wrong, rubbish needs to be destroyed.
