Google Chrome gets major performance update

Google has officially rolled out an update to its Chrome web browser which brings significant performance and power usage improvements.

"This month's update represents the largest gain in Chrome performance in years, thanks to many under-the-hood improvements," Google said.

No thanks. It's Edge for me. Looks so much nicer on higher-res displays, and the corresponding mobile app has built-in ad blocking.

Funny thing is that some of these features were included in Edge first, then sent upstream to the Chromium project.

Edge uses Chromium which is just another version of Chrome with the Edge skin. LOL The adblock is just a preinstalled Chrome extension.

The whole point of using the new Edge is because it is now a Chromium browser. But MS has done plenty to make it a cut above Chrome imo.

And the ad blocking with ABP in the mobile Edge browser might be super simple, but Chrome doesn't offer it. Considering how intolerable mobile ads are, that's a big deal.

Didn't know about bromite - will check it out - brave blocks everything and i mean EVERYTHING which is perfect. Using other browsers allow ads to sneak in i.e on tradingview. For that reason alone I stick to it.
