Looks like it, I got an invite and tried to get it to work but no joy.
If you chose a US number then ppl would have to phone to the US to get a hold of you here.

Skype, imho, is still the best for us, there are very few ppl I know who dont use skype.

I got that invite too. Pity they are not launching internationally yet. But Skype, really?
Skype is heading into the realms of kiddy play toy; mxit.

Fantastic little secret that no-one seems to publicize:

First download Hotspot Shield from: http://www.hotspotshield.com/
Then enable the shield (what this effectively does is it makes the internet think that you are in the USA)
Then, sign up for google talk.

Once you are signed up, you can remove the Hotspot Shield, and use google talk as normal.
