GWISA=SCREAMER

Why don't you PM the screamer and tell him you want to speed test the new backbone?:D

I think they are indeed testing or optimizing their new backbone as my speed sometimes goes upto 70kilobyte/s down, twice as fast as it should be and I will run my cap out twice as fast......

Same here, I sometimes get lightning fast downloads but then that's sometimes.

I must add that in general I have seen imrpovement with the speed here. I am in PTA.

Maybe they're still working on things on your side?

I wonder what happened to the screamer? Haven't seen him on the forum for a while now?:D

Sorry guys
Been out in the field for the past week and also try not to get involved with vitriol and pettiness.
A number of our clients are still on our connections that use unregulated spectrum and unfortunately being unregulated means that you get the odd "fish and chips" supplier blasting out in his own little world and that inteferes with your connection. Our support desks spend most of their time adjusting clients frequencies to spectrum that is not being interfered with and we are trying as quickly as possible to move all clients to our licenced spectrum which ensures consistently high speeds.
Cyberarmy, please e-mail us with your account no and I will check if you are in an area that is due to go onto licenced spectrum connections.

Good to see you're still with us.

Can you clarify what you mean with licensed/unlicensed spectrum?

Also, what is happening with regards to the voice solution?:D

"we will have a very exciting announcement regarding voice services in 3 weeks time"

What? Exactly like GWI has been doing all these years ? Can you "scream" vrot fish and chips ?

UnLicenced spectrum = unregulated access spectrum such as in the 2.4Gb range
Licenced spectrum = regulated access spectrum allocated to one of the operators that we have an agreement with and, no, I am not authorised to publish the agreement or details thereof on the web.

Voice is being deployed at a number of the gated communities we service and as soon as it is bedded down and available generally I am sure management will let all their clients know.

Mr Hart is always happy to meet with clients so drop me an e-mail mentioning "hisite" and I will get his PA to set something up.

do you think you will get spectrum when your owner is as white as snow and claims to be 60% black?LOL i dare you to prove that you have a spectrum partner(maybe sentech, they dont know u are not bee anymore do they?).we as consumer should know who we are getting into bed with?stop playing games and face your issues, fish and chips indeed.dont blame users for your problems they gave you a chance you made the rules and now you blame them,i would leave you just because of that fact.you really dont get i
hisite, you really are an embittered little guy with a very large axe to grind. But please spare us the vitriolic stream of consciousness stuff and find your caps key and spacebar.

Glad to see you've turned down the volume on Northcliff-3 which was pumping it out like a pulsar since it was turned on this weekend. It was one of my strongest signals on an antenna pointing away from the site.

Quick question from an ex-GWI client - what is the gain on your standard panel antenna that you install?

But thats how WISPs in ISM operate. Amp at the first sign of noise, and then complain about interference.

ok ok sorry i will try to be nice,no more negative comments from me.
enjoy gwi and happy new year!
p.s they dont know, your guess is better than theirs, sorry again.
i have a sharp axe bye the way, only hisite will be invited to meet the hart!!

hey howzit ,you guys must be thrilled with the altech victory?
any reply on your spectrum issues?trying to be nice?

Well whatever, but the service is very crappy again this evening.:D

Talk is cheap. I had many, many months of crappy service getting to the point of being down about one week in four. And with the cap, plus R120/Gb topup, it's also become expensive compared to ADSL. Frankly, my feeling is GWI is only a choice of last resort ie if you cannot get ADSL.

True. But alas, if ADSL isn't available........

But for a company that makes that kind of money one would expect better service?:D

The reasons for the expensive top ups is to try and get clients to take more accurate packages which are still some of the cheapest in the industry.
What area are you in Buffalobill and you, Rebel998?

I pmed my account number to Howzit this morning, so hopefully I will be putted onto the regulated frequency soon and have more stable connection.
