GWISA=SCREAMER

Connection is much better now. I had to re-install my anti-virus and the updates are huge, I had to retsart a big download TWICE! Browsing was also very slow at times. But yes, its much better now thanks.

All the hassle and inconvenience could easily be avoided with one of those nifty sms,s you sometimes send out.:D

Anyone know if there is an issue with Screamer today? I connect from Sandton through to Pretoria and the link has been down from about 3pm.

Can't get an answer on it either ...

I think the backbone between Jhb & Pta is down as I am in PTA and had no connection since this late afternoon/early evening as well.

I see we had some weather.....

I connect to the tower but PPPOE cannot connect.:D

btw have you managed to get a number for their support (what the knows what is happening with WiMax)?

The best bet you have is to pm howzit, if he's not too busy sorting out c..p somewhere he'll be able to tell you what you want to know.

Still no Screamer.(posting this on gprs):D

No PPPoE here either ... let's hope they sort it out today.

The sad thing for me is that I had such high hopes for them; a true alternative to Telkom and the fat cats. When it works it works really well and you can't beat their pricing model. Come on Screamer ... there are a lot of people that want you to succeed.

When I called support just now the first said he saw me on the Klapperkop tower which is nowhere near me, then he insists he cannot see me on the tower even when my wireless interface shows a good signal strength to the tower but pppoe out just won't connect!

Whats the use of a support dept if they are just going to try and BS the clients? Thats why I only call support if I can not reach Freeg (the local agent) as I have in the past gotten the same "reset your router please" drill from them. They should put someone at support that knows whats going on 'cause the current people sure don't.:D

Sorry about the problems this weekend guys. We have had a great repsonse to our solution which means that we have had to upgrade our backhaul significantly and 2 of the links (R21 and Bryanston) that we were connecting to our new tower in Centurion have taken us much longer than they should have but WILL be finalised by this evening.

Seems as if this weekend is the switch-over weekend (direct connection to Pretoria) and it is taking longer than they expected.

I would really love knowing this in advance as it would save myself and a lot of other people time tracking down the problem. I think that a simple message sent via SMS or email of planned outages would be handy.

Exactly my point. And on top of that support spins you the reset your router s..t!

Also, maybe its time screamer set up some alternate links to carry traffic when one link goes down?:D

My connection was live from about 5pm (I think) - although the back-haul was exceptionally slow until about 11pm last night. It is my guess that a lot of people were using the available Telkom bandwidth ...

I called this morning and was told another two hours.

I have been without internet now since Saturday afternoon.

Thank God I did not take voice from screamer as well because then I would have been totally cut off from the world.:D

Still nothing. Something tells me today is not going to be the day either.

At least support has stopped dishing out the reset drill.:D

@Rebel - Myne also still down :( Wonderboom PTA North Link

Told you guys earlier on..............a circus is in town !!

You are pathetic clown. You are obviously not a client and are trying everything to slag Screamer off.

You have decided to ignore the moderators request that you sort out your nonsense by PM'ing them or contacting them on e-mail. We are ignoring your tired little efforts to waste our time.

Get lost.

Yeah, wonderboom1. I've been told "two hours" this morning at around 9. Then this afternoon the local guys said another half an hour. Obviously something's not right. Whats happening howzit? Its been like this since Saturday now?!

I can not get hold of Freeg and no one else seems to know exactly what is going on.:D

We do not have any problems on our network so I have been told that Freeg has set up a meeting to meet with you this morning to check your setup at home. Has this meeting been arranged?
