I recommended one to family and their ADSL connection went from unstable to rock solid. I am seriously considering the N17U for my next ADSL router so I am interested in why the negative opnions.
You can get better for less and unless you live in a one bedroom apartment, the WiFi range is never gonna be enough.

@Sl8er: Have you looked at the Tenda D301 from Scoop Distribution and their retailers (Russ-AL PC's, GeeWiz, AVSupply etc.)? It's a Broadcom BCM6318 based router and the reviews are very positive. I have the now discontinued D151 and it has performed very well and has an excellent WiFi range (30~40m at least). It should offer very similar performance to the TP-Link W8960 which is using the same Broadcom chipset and includes a USB port.

Some reviews - the D301 includes a USB port

I use the Tenda's W-FH307, better range than unifi-AP.

The router also has a boost button, which sends etxra power to the wifi chip. It is also not icasa certified so it pushes more much than legal limit of 100mw.

(Last question on this topic, it is the "Hardware Bargains" thread after all :o )
Do you perhaps have a link for me? Could you PM it to me? (Don't wanna clog this thread up any more than I already have!) Thanks man!

Wi-Fi is a necessity so exceptions can be made :D

anybody use this before? need one of these, my laptop needs some speed...

Just purchased 2 of these to sort out 2 laptops that are extremely slow so they will get a second chance at life (even tho they only 1.5 years old and only used for email and word).
