How so? (Genuinely curious)
Note: I've got the Sinotec 43" LED as my desktop display for work and gaming. Edit: Been using it for a couple of months and before that I had a Sinotec 42" LCD (which was fully refunded to me after it failed 3.5 years into its 5 year warranty). Borrowed a Sinotec 39" LCD (my brother's) while I waited for a newer, better deal.

A family member of mine has a 39" Sinotech FHD (Purchased about 2 years ago), the picture quality is atrocious. Not sure if they've improved since then.

Hisense definitely has better build quality, sinotec generally just looks like schit, bottom of the barrel rebranded Chinese stuff of dubious origin, granted they may work ok and neither brand is very good.
There are both the same. The same stuff selling under different brands in diferent megastores. By example one brand for Game, the other selling in Dion, so they do not compete in price. Using this technique both stores can advertise the best prices.

Eh? Sinotech and Hisense are not even remotely the same. They're totally different brands.

Can't speak for Sinotech, but I do know Hisense usually use either Samsung or LG panels for their TVs, and build quality and picture quality are excellent.

Edit: I see another poster said Hisense picture quality wasn't good - as I always tell people, if you're buying a TV, go into the store and look at it and in this case, compare the picture to the more expensive Samsungs and LG's in the same range (screen size etc.) - Then make your own decision (in my experience, you'll find that the Hisense looks almost as good as the LG and Samsung, but for lower price).

In some cases, the Hisense looked better. But that's my opinion

Anyone know of any specials going on for cheapie gaming keyboards? One requirement is that it has to be illuminated. :)

(I'm asking this time, because ten or so days ago, I bought a screen from Esquire...six days later it went on special for like R200 less. I emailed them a couple of times, contacted them via their website and even pm'd the rep here...no answer. If I had known it would be on special, I would have waited six frigging days! They're avoiding me like the plague now. ANYWAY...so...keyboards....)

Budget?

Also, this is how specials work, somebody has to buy it first(esp in my family) for it to get discounted a few days later

According to my information, both brands use the same manufacturers facility and probably belong to the owner. It can be verified, as brands are registered to the respective owners.

I agree to the comment on quality. It improved over last few years and some products are quite comparable to the leading brands, but not all.

As cheap as possible -I saw Esquire had some Sharkoon backlit keyboard for like R450-or so. I really don't care, as long as the keys light up.

(I hear you, but damn...someone can at least get back to me...or just be fugging ace and give me R200 store credit or something...y'know what I mean? Six days...not ever a week. :erm: )

Probably out of your budget, but this is real value for money IMO. I have one and really happy with it. The mouse is also decent.

I suppose you used it within those six days? Otherwise, you could have returned it and bought the "special" one. Or bought the one on special, and returned it using the old invoice for store credit towards something else :p

Yes, I know, this is quite unethical.

I've read on this here forum, how "difficult" they are / can be WRT returns so I wasn't going to go that way. I called it for what it was. There are some stores that give you credit if they have items that go on sale within a week -or something like that, I forget. I just kinda' hoped they would go the same route -not this total silent treatment.
But I'll pull my big girl pants up and move on...it is what it is. :o

They're not really a retail store though, they are distributors so I wouldn't expect the same as normal stores.

Yeah...but...they still sell to the "anyone"...and they have walk-in stores...and they may as well do it -small gestures like this go a long way. Anyway...this is the Hardware Bargains thread, so let's "bargains" :)
