had a lengthy convo with them about it and i was assured and even accepted the terms and i will be paying 1042 for 100/100.

I think i mentioned somewhere that i will be paying R1100 -R1200 which is fine. but the other guy is saying he is paying R1138 for 100/10 and he can get 100/100 for that

that guy is paying R1138 for 100/10. He can pay R1200 for 100/100. The price difference is so insignificant but the upload speeds are quite significant

No, as per quote below, you said you will be paying 1042 for 100/100, that's why the question was raised. I just pointed out you misread your quote.

I get about half the speed that I used to get this last couple of days. Since about Wednesday I think. My Vodacom fibre now has so much packet loss that it's completely unusable. So rain still wins. I do hope we get our speeds back however.

Used to get around 80 to 120 Mbps. Now get around 40 to 50.

many people are complaining about vodacom fibre. so i am going to stay away from them
 
Rain has dropped the ball for me thou, used to get 60mbps now I’m down to 8-10. Netflix is unstable streaming between 480p and 720p when it feels like it. Must say Vodacom seems to work fine...
 
Yea the upgrade to 24/7 unlimited is a total downgrade unless you use a VPN. Seeing speeds drop from 60mbps to 10Mbps is a pain I can’t describe, all this for 5 more hours of internet.
 
Definitely seeing a slow down on the R250 uncapped package for the past week, especially with youtube (haven't tried streaming from any other sites).
Either we're being throttled or there is network strain with people using the internet from home during the day, but I doubt it's the latter.

Same here - but the issue is also on rain fixed LTE as well - It's as if Rain decided no one should get anything above 10mbps on their network. It's been a struggle all weekend to try get connected and when you win that fight you have to keep on fighting to stay connected. I wrote them an email. It's yet to leave my outbox.

can you maybe explain to me what's the difference between the mobile and fixed SIMs? I had a similar question about where people were getting those rain-branded MiFi devices but I got the answer that it was an early offering, is this similar?

Not similar to that but the same. When rain first came out they offered a fixed LTE service which is not available anymore. They stopped it due to capacity restraints. So you can't sign up for one but the old clients still get supported so I still have mine. 55gb peak plus 55 off peak for 550 a month. Used it to supplement my rain mobile 250 package. I may pass it on to someone interested or keen before month end.
