TBH, I would spend the money and get all the "spare" parts and get that engine actually checked out...

I would be very surprised if it needed to be replaced at all, at least not until they had completely fscked it up.

Just in time.. the Parts leftover from the add new motor...

Keep in mind the "new" motor supplied was only a Motor there are not Extra Casings, cover nothing just a motor...
please view with caution, I would not view this video if your car is currently parked or undergoing a service from R595 at a CAR SERVICE CITY Franchise...near you...

What a horror story. Good luck with the legal action.

I did see the motor I was not in a state where it would have been replaced bu the quoted me R7050excl for the Block to be rebored, the Head to be recon they quoted me R 4950 excl, I can see why if I see where the Springs are stored in the shop

the original issue was this:
originalIssue.jpg
Piston Gone... okay get a new one and rebore and fit everything back: Go the quote after I had to contact HQ for this
[Censor due to legal Issues]
so the owner tells me to accept the quote or remove my car....
carPics2.jpg
that one... remove it...

and I get the email saying
HQReply.jpg

and when I queried about the Crankshaft..
CranckShaft.jpg

Yes The one keeping the Sump off the floor... the response from THE OWNER... not the whimpy Manager THE OWNER... "We do this all the time… it’s not the first time we do this…" Luckily I have this on a recording as well... nicely documented...

I've used Car Service City in Worcester a few times. They aren't the neatest, but they get the job done for cheap. I would only bring old cars to them in any case.

My sister recently took her car somewhere in Centurion to have it serviced. Also a complete balls-up, I'll ask her where she took it. Could it be the same place? Place your bets!

This thread is difficult to follow. What was wrong with the vehicle in the first place?

There is some Pictures.... of the original Issue..

http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/533615-Car-Service-City-Centurion-amp-Headoffice-SHOCKER!!!?p=10465483&viewfull=1#post10465483

it all came down how their Head Office just has a disregard to Client service and how to manage Clients well that and their branches... they are just too keen to pocket money, They(the branch) get charged Franchise fees on turn over, so why would HQ get involved to solve clients' complaints it will end up costing them money... easy for them to say launch a formal complaint With the RMI, and they know it will cost you R285 Non refundable... which to me sounds like small change if you look at the amount I paid already and still don't have a vehicle to drive with.

See the above link of previous threads regarding car service city, warn everyone you can about these b@stards and hopefully one day they will go bankrupt.

All the best I hope you get those fusckers.

Million Thanks to Jean & Phillip @ Mechanical & CV Repairs Centurion, so far so good!

Probably would've done a better job yourself... blind folded.

Not to sure about that one... that's why I took it to someone... just not the right ones... the car has been at Jean's place for one day and already they have the car running the Gearbox Light on the Dash is now turned off. Hopefully they will get the car sorted soon.

He just Phoned me and mentioned that they(************** Centurion) also broke the front Engine mounting and would need replacement and so the Saga continues. Please do not risk it to take your car to these people, I spoke to a couple of people now having the same or even worse issues.
