Hi All,

Need some help. Helping a friend get her fibre connected in a new place. The house has a Vumatel CPE connected but cant activate with a new ISP because Telkom still holds the line from the previous owner. The previous owners are useless and not very helpful to get the line canceled so we can activate.

I have emailed cancellations at Vumatel, phoned Telkom (they cant help as im not the account holder for the previous owner) and now sitting with fibre i cant get connected. What can i do?

You should be able to send the proof of residence to the new ISP to have Vumatel release the line.

Thanks, we did that but apparently they (Vox) are still waiting for Telkom? Is Vox just a useless ISP?

Willing to use another ISP if it means she can get her internet sorted ASAP

If anyone can, @PBCool can...

All Vox tells me is: "Have you received any feedback from Vumatel regarding the line release? Telkom hasnt released the line"

Vox is seriously crap.

Unfortunately this is out of Vox's hands. If they get a proof of address from you then Vumatel merely requests that Telkom release the line. If they don't want or God forbit log an abuse then the release of the line is going nowhere slowly.
