Durban getting upgraded at the moment - 031-563-xxx numbers got bumped to 10Mb in the last week or two. Pity I'm on 562

I'm on a 563 number and have had no upgrade as yet...

we have a 4Mbps line and this morning I did a speed test and got this:

I ran it a few times just to be sure and got anything between 50Mbps to 280Mbps
Am in Cape Town testing from Newlands server.

Anyone else getting weird results?

I have always found it annoying and frustrating that quoted speeds are always theoretical maximums that in practice cannot be reached even in perfect circumstances. Why do we accept that?

I'm still on 4mb in Durban. The Telkom DSL 10mb ready site is a crock, I have tried a multitude of Durban numbers and none have come up as 10mb capable... We should run another poll of in which cities users have been upgraded.

I got bumped up to 8Mbit lastnight Getting full line speed with the 50Gb Afrihost account I'm on at the moment.

Looks like some areas in lansdowne / crawford is currently being upgraded, spotted telkom running underground lines in quite a few roads over the last week...fingas crossed...
