Hisense Q8600 Thread

On my 8600 after load shedding it switches itself on.

I tried the setting on the TV and it had on impact

Set it to "Remember" the last scenario. If it was off, it will remain off.
"Standby" can still be switched on if it detects something in the HDMI ports being powered on and thus the TV powers on.

Worked for me.

I don't think we've confirmed that the older J1127 is definitely solely for the B8000. It may even be the same file which explains why your set won't upgrade? Maybe all VIDAA sets run the same firmware,

Maybe @Hisense SA can explain the differences in firmware.
So I installed it and all went well. I don't notice any differences to the 1114 version, and the Dolby vision logo still doesn't appear... Oh well. At least it's up to date.

I did notice a Dolby audio logo appear when watching content via USB.

Cool will try tonight

Is everyone still happy with the Q8600, if so, any specials out there? Looking for a 65" model.

I will say this about the 65 vs 55 decision:

I sit about 3.5m from my TV. I saw the 55" and 65" side by side at a store, and if watching 4K content, the benefit of 4K is much more noticeable at 65". If, however, you watch mostly 1080 content and some 4K, then the 55" looks crisper at 1080, while the 65 inch starts looking a bit blurry. Because I still watch some files from my local NAS at 1080, I chose the 55 inch. The best compromise for me. If you have plenty 4K options, or sit further than 3.5m from the set, definitely go 65".

That actually makes perfect sense, thanks.

Bought my 55" Q8600 in November last year and loving it.

However I now realise a 65" would be better suited for my lounge

Do you think it would be possible to exchange for the 65" model?
