Home Connecta Flexi

Me too, and this was one of the original 2 month bundles so can only guess Cell C doesn't have a way to differentiate between the two. So don't knwo where the loading airtime bit comes from.
Just extended it again for another month. Though it's almost used up in any case so not much use.

It is only allowing me to rollover the night data.

Is this the norm now?

Will this special end in January? @Cell_C

28.03 GB Power plan and 48.91 LTE nite expiring tonight, no rollover option. If Cellc think that tomorrow morning I am going to buy more data from them because they didn't allow me to roll this one over they are very wrong. I will simply throw their simcard away.

Data extended. I had to put the sim card into a phone and use *147#.

About a week ago I managed to roll over all of my current bundles from the USSD menu of my router, one LTE Power Plan and two Connecta Night Data bundles.

I am also anxiously waiting to hear whether or not the HCF promotion is going to be extended otherwise I may have to migrate back to Afrihost which could take a while as I will need to get a new SIM card delivered to me. I will purchase another HCF bundle before the end of the month when the promotion is expected to end.

The sim card is always in my router.
When I need to buy a bundle or extend/data rollover I use the cell C app.

The option wasn't showing on the app for this one number. For two other sim cards I am able to do rollover from the app.

Been struggling with this Home Connecta stuff for far too long. Signal drops out completely at random times and very slow speeds. Finally decided to get a MTN sim and do some tests.

Same tower, same router (at the same place in the house), same tablet connected to it on the same table etc. Just changed the sim and the results are shocking!

vs

CellC 1.21 Mbps down, 27.93 up, 30ms ping
MTN 92.76 Mbps down, 9.18 up, 29ms ping

Are you in a big city or a smaller town?

That's the problem with this MVNO thing. They have to sort this out first. Far too many people have complained.

Hi there

As an alternative, you can dial *109#, then follow the prompts for Data Roll Over.

@Cell_C: Do you have any information regarding whether the HCF promotion is going to be extended or made permanent after 31 January?

Does anyone know how rollover works if one has two data bundles with different expiration dates ?

Thinking to top up the HCF with another 1000gb before Jan 31 (the stated end of this promo ) , but want to be able to rollover the full balance. I’m seeing reports rollover is only available some days before expiration (someone mentioned maybe five days prior). It would be ideal to have all the data rolled over together.

You should see a list of all of the bundles that can be rolled over 5 days before they expire. When I rolled over my data using the USSD menu I had to select each bundle individually and the expiry dates were extended on each bundle by 30 days. The anytime data is called LTE Power Plan and the night data is referred to as Connecta Night Data. They need to be rolled over separately.

I'm not sure how many times you can roll over the bundles as I might be interested in switching to a 400GB bundle if I was sure that I could roll it over free of charge until I had used up all of the data. Nobody appears to know whether the HCF plans will be extended, modified or discontinued so I hope that you will be able to use all of the 1TB before it expires.

It should work even after expiration, that’s what Cell C told me last year but I doubt they will cut it. They will lose a lot of customers if they cut this long running promotion, it should be standard now because other networks have the same pricing. I just bought another 1TB today 20th January 2022 and I bet when I rollover after 28 days or so it they would have extended the promotion again or hopefully made it standard. I’m gonna ask them and let you know what they say.

I realised that on the app only the main number has this option. the other linked numbers will show balances but no rollover option. I was managing two sim cards in routers in different locations. I cannot be travelling to those places every month to get the sim card from the router into a phone to rollover data. The easier option was to move to a provider who allows me to manage data remotely.

You can do the rollover without removing the SIM card using the USSD menu in the router but it can be a bit inconvenient. I'm not sure whether you can access that router menu remotely via telnet etc. I also agree that the whole rollover process is an unnecessary waste of time.
