Homemade Pizza

We've got a great area bakery that makes bases fresh daily and one of these little beauties.

Not much to look at but makes great pizzas. :)

Yeah. DIY pizza ftw.

Besides...anything tastes good with enough cheese.

Biltong or braai left-overs on DIY pizzas also rules.

I always buy pre-made bases. I can't be arsed to make me own.
Its actually really easy. I "cheat" or help the process along by covering the bowl with a damp cloth and putting it under the cover in bed with the electric blanket on.

Best one I've found is from Jamie Oliver ( http://www.channel4.com/food/recipes/chefs/jamie-oliver/pizza-dough-recipe-08-02-14_p_1.html ), But you also 100 g of finely grated Parmesan cheese to the mix.. Its really great and you can get nice crispy bases if your roll them thin enough, but can also go for the thicker style base with the above recipe.

My Wife also taught me another new trick the other day that she found in a magazine somewhere. I thought she was mad, but its pretty good (if you like egg)... Crack an egg into the middle of the pizza then put it in the oven, The egg actually bakes into the whole mixture with your toppings becoming part of the pizza

My stepmom used to make kick ass pizza when I was a kid still. She has not made it in a long time, but there is a place called Papa Murphys, they make the pizza fresh, and you bake it at home. I just loooove there stuffed pizza, with garlic sauce all over...mmmm

Dang - after this thread, if I hadn't already planned meatloaf for supper we'd be having pizza tonight!

we buy that bread from shoprite that looks like a pizza it already has some toppings on it, then you just add your own toppings when you get home and there you have a pizza, taste fantastic. a week ago we bought a pizza from pnp from the bakery side and it was warm still and had that.

which one for the sir's taste buds ?
Bacon, pepperoni, olives and perhaps chili :)

What's also makes a nice change is instead of pizza bases use a baguette.

Turns into what? A 6" blonde, turns to the dark side, into a pumpkin? :D

frikkin chucklehead the second :rolleyes::D

In other news .... /me is having pizza tonight, lol. Bacon, feta, caramelized onion, lots of softened, peeled peppers, cheddar and some cabbanossi (spelling) sausage :D
