I smoked for about 16 years... During the last stages just before quitting, I smoked about 40 per day. I forced myself to keep it to one every hour, but that frustrated the hell out of me and I found myself counting the seconds to the next smoke.
After about 2 weeks I realised that if I had quit, I would've been over the worst part already, gave my last packet away and quit... That was 6 years ago...
Look, I am not going to lie and say it was easy. It was HELL for me and my family for the first 3 months, but it does get easier over time.
Ive also got a theory about quitting smoking. If it is easy for you to quit, you will easily start again. If it was extremely difficult to quit, you will think thrice about starting again.
