Central heating and really good insulation.

Layer up if I go outside.

I was born in Sutherland and in general have a large tolerance for cold. My wife also prefers colder weather.

We do not own a heater. We cuddle up in front of the TV under a blanket and switch on the electric blanket to warm up the bed about 30 minutes before going to bed. We switch the electric blanket of immediately when we go to bed and do not sleep with it switched on.

20 year old Morso closed wood fire place in our lounge which provides heat to the living area of the house...

We use a 400w wall panel electric heater in our sons room connected to a Sonof TH16 which monitors temperatures and will switch teh heater on/off as necessary.
I am constantly blown away by how much heat you get from a little wood in a good closed fireplace. Our little one (5-7kw) kicks a gas heaters ass and I pop 1-2 logs on an hour.

Also keeps the doggies nice and cozy :)

That's to be expected on an English summer's day but what about winter?
Lol heating has been turned off since mid April
Just the heat from cooking, showering and appliances keeps us overheated. Downstairs door stays open most of the day. Bedroom was an uncomfortable 24 this morning.

Think Pink. And the SO is like a mini heater. Electric blanket for when I'm under the covers and he isn't.
