How is cool ideas overall?

Been with cool ideas for 12mths. Vumatel Fibre. Impressive consistent speeds. 100mb fibre. I get exactly what I paid for. I am very happy.

I'm really happy to hear that. I'm waiting on Vumatel to install, my area has gone live (but now they are on holiday :( ) and I haven't even considered anyone other than Cool Ideas. Good price, good support and now it seems you have good speeds as well.

Ditto Ditto Ditto and so much Ditto.
The 100/100 deal got even better and is R1199. It's awesome to see CI bring down the pricing.

Cool Idea's please don't lose your customer centric approach. There've been some bumps but you always come through. Thank you.

Cancelled with SADV from the 16 december the dropped my international streaming to 0.1mb which left me without any streams for two weeks. I applied with you guys as you use SADV infrastructure, I recieved an e-mail that SADV will have to reconfigure the line to cool ideas and the process takes 2-3 weeks, why so long and how is streaming to international servers?

Unfortunately it is not something that is in our control, it is a bit silly that to switch a vlan takes that long but we would rather under promise and over deliver in scenarios like this. What sort of streaming are you referring to?

Well i guess, any type of streams i would like to stream should not be throttled.

We don't throttle any traffic as advertised, so we would need the example to investigate what the cause may be.

Ok thanks for your prompt responses, as soon as my line is configured to Cool Ideas, I will be signing up with you guys, I have already applied for a line. It looks like I will be happy with your service after all
 
Just wondering. The R500 instillation fee - is this for them actually installing the fibre line to your home?
 
We are getting Vodacom fibre installed early next year and are possibly going to have a 6 month lock in period, thereafter CI seems like a good plan. I don't care for a 100/100 line with a softcap, 100/100 does NOT help me stream faster ( I found that watching movies at 1.5x normal speed a little pointless :D), it's all about the cap. Glad to see all the good reviews, now I just hope VC will play nice and CI will be able to work off their fibre

It's with TT Connect.

I'm currently looking for a property to rent in a Edenvale and I want fibre. I definitely wish to go with Cool Ideas and I saw that it's R500 for instillation fee. Would that mean that I would pay R500 for a fibre line to be installed to the home if fibre is available in the place?

Yeah it's not been easy, we have capacity to their DC in Midrand as they state this is the only option to terminate their FTTH offering, we have been in there for nearly 3 months already.

Yeap so we absorb most of the cost, the R500 is basically a connection fee from TTConnects side to terminate the fibre.

Well I am still waiting for someone to contact me regarding the reconfiguration of my line, made an application about a week and half ago. When i used adsl you could switch betweeb providers with easy, but with you guys seems like a long wait, I am even thinking of going back to using adsl, not happy!!

Hi Micham03, unfortunately the line reconfiguration is done by the network operator not us your ISP, pro's and cons with the IPC model.

Drop me a mail directly on paul at cisp.co.za and I will try and escalate for you with the network operator.
