How the WITS student voting will work

Cool story, bro.
The last moments of rioter behaviour (shutting entrances, intimidating other students out of lectures etc.) do correlate with the shutting of the university right?

I mean the violence didn't stop before the university shut yes?

According to Wits, only 260 people (out of 37 000) did not have cellphone numbers.

And yet the poll will only reflect "privilege" ? What? :wtf:

Blocking entrances is rioter behavior? Intimidation? Ever been in a lecture being disrupted? My experience was a protester coming in going, up to the lecturer and saying "Sicela baphume". Last year the guy walked up to the lecturer spoke, told them "there are no lectures". He walked out and the lecturer told us to pack up.

Weak justifications...

Try again.

As earlier in the thread, where are people gonna get airtime money?

Yeah, wanting to complete your education is priveledge....check and mate

Don't the poor want to complete their education? Isn't that the whole point of these protests.?

Justification of what. That **** ain't rioting

Are you preventing other people from pursuing their education? And were your protestors destroying public property, if so.. You were rioting..

Language is a bitch isn't it?

For one you might want to stop using "you"?
Second disrupting lectures still ain't rioting.
And lastly, as been said before, none students.

Hold now. Sure, disrupting lectures isn't rioting. It is however taking away the right of education from me. See how it works?

How do you know the protesters are not students? Do you now each and every student in th university?

Not really, I quite enjoy the word.. especially when intonated properly it can actually drip with venom.. Its a very expressive English word.

Disrupting lectures may not expressely be rioting, but the other activities are and students have been involved... to claim that they are all non students is completely and utter twaddle and deserves to be treated with the large volumes of contempt such a bollocks claim is worth.

It's still denying the rights of others

Yes. They're preventing other people from moving, from studying, from going about their daily lives. That isn't a peaceful protest. That you don't understand that is disturbing.

There should be nobody ever walking into a lecture theatre and stopping lectures. Other students have a right to not take part in that protest, to continue studying if that is what they choose to do.

Did the "jub" girls tell you that too, or was it the security guards that you know?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: you are a troll and a disingenuous liar and your constant attempts to rationalise criminal behaviour are pathetic and disgusting.

I might be wrong, I haven't read all of the posts here.

But my opinion is that some the students are causing chaos because they haven't got a hope in hell of passing the exams they are supposed to write now, because they haven't studied.

So what this circus does that they created, is frustrate everyone, but hopefully " gives them another chance"

No one is denying anyone their right to education. Nobody is stopping anyone from studying at home/at res like the rest of us are doing.
I did not say the protesters are not students. Don't put words in my mouth. Show me where I said that.

That's really cute.

It "you" is an expressive word, then I'm Adam Habib's son.
Which other activities are those?

It's still denying the rights of others

Which would be?

Which bit would be those? Only cars were blocked. You could walk out at the minor pedestrian gates.

What's/Where is Jub? Wena step aside because I haven't seen you or Vrotappel or Madam Speaker add any value whatsoever to this conversation. Only worthless insults.
