Again, not there to baby you. Show the lecturer at a later stage that you've put in effort, but still can't grasp something and I'm sure he/she will help. They're not monsters but remember that they have hundreds upon hundreds of undergrads to deal with in addition to their own research work. You are not the centre of their universe even if you are the centre of yours.
Yes but some textbooks do a lousy job of explaining some concepts and the lecturer is often aware of a better source. They will inform you of these provided you don't skip the lecture because you're too busy rioting.
