No, it will still be clocked at 333MHz if that is all that your notebook is capable of. You don't gain speed but you will find the newer faster ram is 99% of the time cheaper than the older slower ram and does exactly the same job.

Seeing they have not sent you the ram yet just cancel the order, simple as that. You can ask them to change it though but I still think Esquire will be cheaper and if they have stock you get it the same day if you go collect in springfield. I know that they do amend orders, as I tried it about 3 weeks ago over the phone with Graeme and it was OK.

Ok I got the graphics drivers installed but now the resolution is at 1280x800 now apparently it can go up more than that but it is on the highest setting. Anyone know how to make it higher?

Believe me, I tried DDR400 RAM. Both my nx7010's would not POST with DDR400 chips. I sat at Rectron with one of them and they tried 3 of their brands... none worked. Popped in the 333 and vrooooom. Off it went.
So, perhaps Pooky should test your RAM in his nx7010 ?? just to confirm...
Hey Pooky... you will need to confirm the screen resolution of your notebook by looking at the strange model number on the bottom. 1280x800 was the standard resolution on my two. I think that there were a few nx7010 models that supported 1680x1050 screens... but most had 1280x800.
The model number will have either a Y5 (1680x1050) or a W5 (1280x800) in it...

I got my RAM today from Sybaritic, I open it up and on the back is a little sticker saying Cyberdyne... So I think... hmmmmm...
I then look for Cyberdyne and find their website and download their pricelist and see AH!! There is the exact same RAM I bought for cheaper!
I could have just bought from them in the first place! Instead I basically went bought it from someone who then bought it from Cyberdyne and added on moneys!

Ah when I turned my laptop on there is a black bar all the way down the screen, it's there from booting on the computer and the screen contents is underneath the blackness. It is not like it is backlit, it is just black.

Booting into safe mode... is this line still visible ?
You say it is black, but you can see the contents underneath the blackness... is this there when it POSTS at 1st power on ? If you go into the BIOS, is this line still there?
If it is there in the BIOS, then it sounds like a loose connection.
If only in Windows, then it may be driver related.... Windows update with Win 7 used to try and update my graphics driver from time to time, and completely do the strangest things... I had to disable automatic updates to stop this, and re-install the last XP driver from the HP site for it.

It's there all the time, from power on. It is black, I can't see anything, but it's not like the contents of the screen are fitting into the part that is visible, but the screen continues under the black, you just can't see it.

It sounds like there is a loose connection or a problem with the screen... if you connect an external screen, is this still there ? If so, then it is the actual graphics board that may be failing...
Plug it into an external screen and see if it is still there...
