HTC DESIRE HD

I actually did that as well, but that was just to experiment, AND, after I deleted the Dialer shortcut and couldnt do anything else with the "phone"...

Btw.. How do you get the dialer back. More importantly, if I delete any other app "shortcut" does that imply having deleted it from the system (uninstall ala iphone?)

There is no way you can delete the dialer.... I just tried it, even placed it in a folder and try and delete it... no luck. What could have happened is that you moved it to another screen or the last screen where apps appear when you installed them.

So. I flashed the Android revolution rom. Very awesome. Highly recommended!

Speaking of highly recommended, I flashed the RCmix3D rom, built on the leaked Sensation XL rom Android 2.3.5 and sense 3.5, and it is actually very very nice. Its smoother than ARHD's rendition and havent had lagg yet, ARHD gave plenty of lag (but having had ATK run on screen out was possibly a culprit), though it does chow more memory,

Leaves about 100Mb left for other apps etc. dunno if that can be improved with tweeks, but presently unnecessary havent yet had a prob or run out.. It looks great, using the "bliss" rosie launcher in the bottom screen (two button UI rather than the well known sense arc, and I like it.

Use my phone for work and play, and impressed with the Exchange mail added functionality, improved even on sense 3.0.

Dunno if there is a rom out there that works even better but think i'll stick to RCmix3D runnymede rom for now.

Ps, briefly had CM7.1 installed, it wasnt fun, it didnt make sense, and I didnt want to keep it, so flashed RCmix3D just after, it seems I like sense based roms, even though I would give MIUI more screen time if I get bored. I just NEED more widget options with MIUI, it feels empty, I hate the iPhone experience so dont like android feeling like one big open appdrawer minus widgets, I didn't like that the only widgets available were photo frame, search, android calendar etc, they dont add function.

(I arrange my sense roms as Home (only Digi Clock transparent and 3g watchdog "megs left" widget) > Most Used apps shortcuts > Agenda Widget > Calendar Widget > Weather Widget > Messages Widget > Mail Widget > Home.)

Pps. Thanks Elimentals, I probably moved it into the Tools folder or something like that and didn't know to check... :P -doh-

Lack of widgets dont bother me since I bought Android pro widgets https://market.android.com/details?id=com.rdr.widgets.core that have access to loads of themes. I also have have https://market.android.com/details?id=com.levelup.beautifulwidgets for time and weather

I love my Calculator widget https://market.android.com/details?id=com.asparagusprograms.calculatorwidget used the free one for a while https://market.android.com/details?id=com.spiritiz.widget.calculator and https://market.android.com/details?id=at.abraxas.powerwidget.free for quick settings

I just got a message saying that an update is available. Does anyone have any idea what this is for? Is it a new Android update?

I did the update. It's 2.3.5 and sense 3.0, I thought the desire hd wouldn't get the sense 3.

Thanks.

I did the upgrade this morning using my NiteOwl bundle. Sense 3.0 is quite nice. A pity that the Desire HD does not have a front camera so that we can take advantage of Google Chat.

The update also includes the new version of the Android Market.

After upgrading to 2.3.5, I have a startup page with Phone, mail, Camera and messages widgets showing, how do you add/delete widgets on this page? Thanks

you dont, they build directly into the lock screen. shortcuts you drag into he ring to quick launch them instead of having to unlock first.

if you hate them so much you will need to get a lock screen replacement like widget locker, but as far os the stock sense, your stuck with it.

I also got a message saying an update was available. Did the download but still on Android 2.3.3 and sense 2.1. What's happening?

I found a solution for changing the apps on the first page.

Go to Personalize and then Lock Screen, then you can change one of the four apps on the Lock Screen.

Hi Everyone!
After reading and exploring these forums for a few years now, I've found MyBroadband to be extremely useful for info & help. Unfortunately I've come across a problem that hasn't been asked yet, and I'm hoping that someone can help me with it :-)

Yesterday I recieved the OTA upgrade for the Desire HD and it ran smoothly on my own phone. I then proceeded to do the upgrade on my mothers phone (Why she chose a Desire HD is still beyond me!) and the phone now continually gives me an error (every 2 or so seconds) saying 'android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly'. After reading through the error report I have found the problem to be with the HTC dialer.

I don't know what to do, and don't have a clue on how to either disable the dialer, or reinstall it.

My last hope, short of taking it back to MTN, is the forum. Can one of you please help me!!!! :-)

I suspect that the file used may have failed the CRC check so you might have to find a way to re-apply the update with a fresh file. On how to do it the easy way have no clue.

My phone left stock behind some time ago.
