HTC Desire Shortage

So has anyone received their phone yet? I just phoned RAM, said it will be delivered today..........

I've sent in my order for an HTC Desire this morning! (Yay for contract upgrades!)

Hopefully I can get it soon :)
 
Ok, I'm starting to worry a bit. I havnt received an SMS with an order number. Hope Vodacom havnt stuffed up my order.
 
You should give them a call then..... I am anxiously awaiting delivery of my "mofone" hehehe
 
I have just taken delivery of my DESIRE!!!!! time to rip it open, then put it on charge!!! YAY!!!

Just curious, how come none of you guys waiting for the Desire are not going for the Samsung Galaxy S or instead waiting for the Desire HD?

I read quite a few forums and user review on the SGS, and it seems to have way more issues than the Desire (GPS, Bluetooth, TouchWiz, syncing software among others).

I considered waiting for the HD, but that thing is huge. Also the larger screen with the smaller battery is a concern. Plus, I am too impatient to wait another 2-3 months. I have been waiting way too long for my contract to end so that I can ditch my c702.

I'm not a Samsung fan. Never have been, never will be. As for the HD, I've waited for 2 months for the standard Desire, who knows what might happen if I start waiting for the HD.

Thanks. Was not aware of the issues with the samsung.
 
I had a few samsungs, X600, E250, G800 (great functions for a camera that can make calls), really liked them, but when it comes down to smartphones, Im not an Apple fan, so naturally you would go for something that offers it all in one great package (Desire).

I read that the SGS has got performance issues, but once youve fixed that it performs better than a Desire. I just like the Desire more, Had it for about 3 hours now and Im all for it.....
 
Force_FeedR, how did you order your phone? My branch had no idea what I was talking about when it asked for an order number.
 
Apparently I can get my Desire on Tuesday next week. Sigh, another 6 days to wait :P

I did an Upgradge with a Branch, then I phoned the Vodacom UG number, After no joy I visited all the PTA East branches to enquire about the phone. Then I called the call centre non-stop, emailed non-stop, hellopeter'ed them, got in contact with Kevin @ Vodacom, phoned all the branches in PTA east again, Emailed them every second day to get an update, spoke to LEAF and HTC International. Then just as I almost gave up hope, I received the sms from vodacom stating to expect an update shortly, later during the date I got a sms with the order number. And got my phone yesterday.

Also got a Reply from Vodacom Centurion @ 15h00 yesterday that they received 3 Desire's, they said they held one out for me as their waiting list is 10+. so I replied and told them I already got mine @ 10h30......


So Its been one helluva ride, I did the best I could.
