HTC One X

Spent some time playing Dead Space (bundled free with the latest update) - wow was blown away by the graphics and controls. Obviously the One X screen quality doesn't hurt ;)

how are you using 3g/hspa only?
surely theres some areas with no 3g coverage?

on the bad news side. had a signal loss this morning. damnit
wondering if its an app as i installed 2 last nite. removed one.checking to see what happens
those who are having signal issues, are you'll using notification toggles from the market by any chance?

so my 2nd one x is now gone back to mtn. if they decide to replace it, I am not getting a 3rd. will go for a galaxy s3.

back on my desire and it actually feels good to be a phone that just works. wifi doesnt disconnect and strong. cell signal quite strong in the same areas my one x would suffer. theres a reason it was rated the best phone in the world but it does feel "toyish" when grasping it now...

the onex was pretty good on paper but practically, for me, was a fricken disaster...

did you go through mtn? i sent my fone throught htc directly(who sent it to regenersis)
if my signal goes again, im going to sent it via mtn this time
if i could change id get s3 also now.im really fed up,
my desire and Desire S are awesome,. this one x just has too many issues
let us know if mtn do let you take another fone

Yep with mtn. my desire doesnt have the same issues at all. I have a soft shell and still does it.

Initially I had no problems, but then it starts, wifi, gsm and overheating. too frustrating.

yeah my desire and desire s had no issues at all
i had soft gel and now the hard shell case on the one x
have you tried with a voda sim for awhile to see if the issue persists?

stock not rooted
what pouch you using?

using a pouch from "built" ... why dont u try using the phone without the case and see if you still experience the 3G issues ...

EDIT: process of elimination .... and then maybe try a voda sim in the phone ...

i also got the latest sim from vodacom, so dont know if older sims might give issues (like taking your old one and just cutting it)

MTN network, using phone without any pouch or cover.
Monday morning lost data conectivity only for about 30minutes, but could still make calls.
Other times lose network totaly for a few minutes

well mine has just been collected by htc
lets see what they come up with
if the problem comes up again
i'l remove the cover
if its still there
i'l change to voda sim
and then test further

sounds like mtn has some issues but only with the one x. in that case.why did they approve this on their network
they should have tested it properly
if i find it is mtn, im going to ask for the contract to me cancelled and ill get a s3

My 3G connectivity on MTN also drops every now and then.

My quick fix: Added the mobile widget to my home screen and a quick disable and enable gets me connected.

Also not using any covers...

We talking about total signal loss, no gsm no edge no nothing
i dont mind if 3g is not available but its damn irritating when i pick up my phone and theres no signal at all

there is quite a few complaints on international forums about the same issues as well. Never tried a vodascum sim though. I just think that the phone, as much as I liked it, has some serious issues. In general, in my experience and from what I have read online, the first time the phone overheats it expands / moves some of the internal components and causes a whole lot of issues afterward. If you have SH26i or SH27 you should be fine though.

mine is sh26 and network issues are the main problem
wifi had no issues
