No problem. Don't be nervous about installing stuff - it's quite safe and if the application isn't compatible with your mobile, it just won't work ;)

Im gonna feal like a bit of a chop now, but is it possible to download the WM6.5 without using the serial, cos my box is at home, and i wanted to get it here at work?

LOL don't be.
If you pull off the back cover and remove the battery, you'll see the serial number there

Do you know somewhere else that i can get the official 6.5 install, cos the one from the htc site goes SOOOO slow.... like 5kb/s max....

Always get the official ROMs from the Leaf website, you can fixes etc from the HTC website.
Here's a direct link but i'm not 100% sure it'll work: http://www.leaf.co.za/pages/downloa...er/RUU_TouchPro2.exe&saveas=RUU_TouchPro2.exe

If not, go here and pick TP2, then Firmware: http://www.leaf.co.za/pages/support/product.aspx

If you having trouble with the site, use Internet Explorer. It's a bit buggy with Firefox

Yeah Google Maps works well, no voice. But the problem is it downloads the images all the time so it uses a bit of data.
Give TomTom a try, I used to use that a while ago

Well it's about 5 and a half months now since I've had this phone. Since upgrading to Windows Mobile 6.5, I have been happy with the phone, the hardware keypad really makes typing easy. It's just a pity that the camera doesn't have a flash, that can be a real pain.

I understand that Microsoft will be releasing 6.5.3 before they release Windows Phone 7, so that will be interesting to see what updates it brings.

Getting applications for the phone is a mixed bag, the Microsoft Marketplace doesn't have a lot of apps in it, and you can't buy any of them here in SA. FreewarepocketPc has a lot of applications, but sorting through the tons of stuff is a bit tiring.

Anyway, sometimes something just makes me smile. My colleague at work just got the Nokia 5800XM, and after a firmware update he got kinetic scrolling. I had that since day 1 with the TP2 lol. I admit the Ovi Store has a load more stuff in it, and you can buy stuff here in SA, but apart from that I'm not too impressed with it.

Does anybody know if we'll be able to upgrade to WM7

Not on an official ROM... I highly doubt it.
Microsoft has, so far, been rather adamant that they're not going to be slapping their software on any hardware. They may have a change of heart.

I'm not too concerned though, I'm sure there'll be plenty going around at XDA...
WM 6.5.3 hasn't been officially released yet but I see a few 6.5.5 ROMS floating about XDA

I was browsing HTC's website looking to see if anything new had been released for my phone. On the Uk subsite, I saw a new ROM was out. I just downloaded and installed it now. Wow, it is almost like a totally brand new phone again. HTC have skinned the holy hell out of Windows Mobile 6.5, unlike the last ROM which was a rush job I think. Overall so far the phone feels faster, there are some new apps and so on. Home Screen has seen a big change as well. Seems a lot of the internal apps got updated as well, such as Opera and so on.

Still busy playing, but it seems that handwriting support has been dropped again, installing the update that is on the HTC site doesn't work.

So far so good, I am liking it. Will report back after some more use. Just busy resyncing my contacts and messages now from Microsoft MyPhone.
