SP4 bricked my router

I managed to figure out the update process. It ran about half way, failed. I restarted it. It detected that some parts had already been updated, but started the update from the beginning again, failed at the first update and bricked my router

For now I would advise people not to update....

Yeah, exactly the same situation with my B970 router.

Tried to do the update, it had a time out error on the second stage.
Now the device won't give auto IPs, the web page can't be accessed however it still works fine through USB.

I have sent mine into Vodacare and the are hopefully fixing it. Will post any new outcomes from Vodacare.

PS: I recommend that you avoid doing the update yourself and just take it to Vodacare for the update!!

Booked my router in at Vodacare. No questions asked other than what was wrong with it. Told them it doesn't work. Now I have to wait 7-10 working days so they can ship it to JHB before they can look at it. Honestly Vodacom do you actually run a business down here in Cape Town or is it just a courier company?

So what you are saying is that every store in the rest of the country is just a shell where no actual work is done and everything gets channelled via JHB?

I just don't understand why a major city like Cape Town does not deserve a technical team that can deal with 3G device issues? Same story with the iPhone: it gets booked in and shipped straight to JHB. Which means everyone else in SA needs to add 2 days courier time to their service request (assuming shipping there and back). It might make business sense to Vodacom, but it sure frustrates its customers.

Received a call from Vodacare, my router passed its physical (i.e. they cannot find user induced damage) and will now be shipping it to Midrand which is the only place in South Africa where technicians with the required skill can be found to tend to my poor router.

@ShadowRider I happed to notice that there was a C:\DownloadLog on my hard drive and in it was a FmcUpdateLog.txt log file with the errors I received when the update failed. Do you still have yours? If so can you send it to me?

Well I also tried to upgrade via modem.
I use the updater via vodafone router application.
Did upgrade but failed at end of upgrade.
Will cut and paste my log file "SoftUpdateLog".
