Same here, I've got the first file that got released on 11th. Still waiting to to find out if it's for our version or Chinese before flashing.

Prefer the ease of face-unlock on the Mate.

Question is: How widespread are the screen issues? I see the screen isnt the most power efficient either.

Face unlock works like a dream on the P30 Pro as well btw.

Both are brilliant devices, the Mate 20 Pro has the better, higher quality display, along with the more secure Facial Recognition hardware, however the Mate 20 Pro we get down here in SA is the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage variant. Design wise the Mate 20 Pro is more palm friendly with is slightly smaller (shorter and narrower) rounder frame and lighter frame.

The P30 Pro we get here in SA is the 8GB RAM with 256GB Storage variant, along with this the P30 Pro has the better Camera with Periscope Zoom lense and a newer sensor that can capture more light. The Face Unlock is less secure but a whole lot faster, the In-screen Fingerprint Scanner is also faster in the P30 Pro. Design wise the P30 Pro is Taller, Wider, thinner and slightly heavier.

So it's really up to you what is more important. Having used both extensively, the 8GB RAM, 256GB internal memory and Zoom lense of the P30 Pro wins for me, it feels like something truly special, that Periscope lense is one hell of a party piece.
