Considering the Telkom 1GB FreeMe is R100 pm and with the contract it is R699. That works out at a cash prices of R14 400. I would think it is inline with the contract price.
 
If the cash price is more than R15 000, contract is the way to go.
I too think it will be more than R15k

Phones on contracts are subsidized, so definitely won't be in the region of R15 000, last year's Mate 10 pro was around R17 000, the Mate 20 costs more this year - so you should be looking at around the R20 000 mark but I could wrong, pricing should be revealed to tonight or tomorrow.
 
Let's see what tonight entails. Makes sense.

I paid R14k cash in December last year- so no.

At the event and looks like a lot of effort was put in ( 1st launch I’m attending so can’t compare). Hopefully I meet some of my fellow MyBroadbandsnders.
