Huawei P8 & P8 Lite - Reviews, tips & tricks

I'm looking at getting the P8 lite this weekend. Telkom has the phone for R199pm with 100 minutes and 1gb. Until the end of March, you get 15gb per month.

It's a bit worse than my current deal, R169 for 5gb and 100 minutes, with an s3 mini. Telkom says that when this contract expires, the 5gb bonus will default to 1gb, so I might as well upgrade now.

They also have the P8 Lite on SmartPlan 50 for R149pm (and something about 12GB additional data included)

Oranges ZA store has it for R3,365 but no stock currently

The R149pm contract will work you out R3576 overall so a good price.

The R199pm contract will work you out R4776 overall.

I'd probably take the cheaper one if I had wanted to 5inch phone (I want a 4.5inch phone, S5 mini has been ordered) and buy the data I need extra, I rarely call or SMS.

Thanks but 50 minutes is a little low for me. That deal only comes with 550mb instead of 1gb, and doesn't get 'unlimited' 15gb of summer data.
 
Telkom had no stock of the P8 lite. The staff also don't know when they will get more in. Lovely.
 
Just ordered my P8 and expecting it early next week.
Now that you guys have had it for a while does anybody have any complaints?

Main thing is ,don't expect massive battery life from it ,its decent but not great.

Otherwise it runs beautifully ,I never clean my memory or restart the phone. It never slows down ,just keeps on going!

Mine gets me at least a day and a half (36 hours plus). Though, considering how thin the phone is the battery could only be so big.
 
a Guy at work got the p8 lite. The display is to faint for me, I adj the brightness to max, but still too faint. The guy said it is fine with him.

I shouldn't be an issue for me. I keep my S3 mini on minimum brightness most of the time.
 
I got a new samsung, it was also faint, there is a new setting , auto brightness, if on that, you cannot adj it.
