I feel 'skaam' even asking this..

Like angry sex with your partner, but without the emotional attachment. flippin awesome.
hehehehehehe!!!

However appealling that may be to some..

I'm all for a free ride, but I'm also not a door mat..
;)
jajaja whatever:D

I still say take her to the function if he has a problem he will let you know an you would not have crossed the line. According to him that is:D

Mmmmmmmm... Tough situation lol well from my point of view i'd say DON'T DO IT! He will hate you for the rest of his existence:p

Chances are your friend will say "Yes" but deep down inside he'd be rethinking your friendship, how much of a friend you really are.

Lol and as for the girl if she has any respect for the relationship they had she would say no to you. :erm:

From many of the replies one can deduce one thing:

Life is very complicated if you live according to other people's rules.

They have broken up, he has moved on. So where is the problem? It all looks very simple to me.

How sure can he be of that one fact?
I really think it's a choice of bro's over ho's:ppardon the expression

I say go for it - and post pictures to make the decision easier for the rest of us.

Bro Code - whaddaloadaseven

In the latest season of HIMYM, Barney and Robin are an item. Bro Code is nonsense. The only thing you gotta check out is why the bud and bird split. Maybe he dumped her cos she's a needy clingy sort. If you can handle that, go for it. Maybe she dumped him cos he's a barfly and she wants meaning. If you can deliver, go for it.

Just check with the Bro first - if he says no, ask him why not...

But what if she doesn't suck like an Electrolux? Then he would have lost a tjom for nothing? Remember nothing is as overrated as bad sex or under rated as a good shi7.

Anyone not willing to learn or be taught should piss off. So, if he's unhappy about the suckage, teach her how you like it and how she should... I mean seriously????

Having said that, sex is like pizza... if it's good it's great, and if it's bad it's still pretty good.

Also to keep in mind is: Dis he leave her or did she leave him?

Who cares? He can make new friends. He can't just pull a once in a life time life partner/soul mate out of his ass. I say go for it. You'll never know. And like I said (again) you can make *new* friends if he PMS'es about this. As long as you realized he hit that too... and you're okay with it...

Well as long as he enters the relationship with caution. knowing he could lose a friend and this girl could possibly not be interested. then like AcidRazor says go for it.

BUT i still think it's a bad idea... bro's over ho's:D

What is your definition of friends? Sounds more like acquaintances you are referring to.

Yes, but the way the OP has been talking about the friend, it doesn't really sound like a bosom buddy, maybe more like an acquaintance !

Also not sure that a real friend would mind the OP dating the girl (after three to seven months), unless maybe if he still has an interest (ie maybe the friend got dumped - although the OP says not !).

Tricky, on the other hand worthwhile chicks are not always easy to find, and to miss one because of too much hesitation would be unfortunate.

A true friend would understand, that's why I said, if his friend PMS'es about it and he loses his friendship it's not worth being friends with a person like that.

The "bro's before ho's" statement cuts both ways. His friend shouldn't be upset (bro>ho) and if his friend does have a problem with it then he should (respectfully) bro>ho as well.

But we're sitting here twiddling our thumbs not getting to the point of his friend actually knowing what his intentions are.

So go for it FFS. If you lose a friend over it he's not a real friend to begin with. Friends share ;)

If he gets his panties in a wad over this then you can make a judgement call and go the bro>ho route or get the girl and go make new friends.

Seriously. You have the rest of your life to live and you only have one of those so why live it with "what ifs"

You have a good 30-60 years still to go (hopefully) so making a friend should be easy given that time period don't you think?

No. I don't mean acquaintances. I have over 600 of those, only 3 real friends.... and we are truly like brothers.

The fact the OP is worried about what his friend might say or think or do or whatever gives me the indication they're not really friends but (as you mentioned) acquaintances. Why spoil your entire life and your happiness just because someone else is too much of a ***** to let go of something HE dumped in the first place?

Well if it's only an acquaintance then I would say tap it ;)
